I was listening to Praise & Grumble in the car tonight and I was suprised at the attitude the program shows towards negative comments! It seems that unless you are Pro TP they sort of mock the caller. Anyone else noticed this or is it me?

Didn't listen last night, but most of the time I find the responses quite funny. A lot of the time the negative callers don't really have a clue, and half the time contradict themselves. I've heard a few decent debates when people actually have an argument and properly put their point across, but a lot of people are just still tits'd off after the game and having an ill-informed rant.
Both the Sentinel (in the form of Martin Spinks) and Signal (in the form of John Akers) have to a certain degree toe the SCFC line, otherwise they would be given very little access to interviews etc. However, some of their excuses, defences of our performances boarder on totally ridiculous. Spinks could not recognise a footballer with ability, even if he was a player called Messi,-however if you run around all day, have zero ability on the ball then you are guaranteed an 8 in his player ratings.
Akers is even worse - he stated that when Stoke play with two wingers, get the ball forward quickly, and the goals are hitting the back of the net, then Stoke are exciting to watch. No s*** Sherlock? When was the last time Stoke played with two wingers - when did we last score 3 in a premier league game?
Fans will vote with their feet - the ground was not even a third full with two minutes to go; yesterday was a game which just highlighted incompetence from all involved - incompetent refereeing, total incompetence from a midfield that yet again demonstrated its woeful lack of control, passing ability, and lack of speed - a home team that took 42 minutes to muster its first shot on goal - just following the pattern of the last 4 home games and all of our away efforts.
When you look at our squad , for £94m, what have we really got?
Two sulking and off form wingers, no midfield worth the name (or can Palacios only play once every full moon), no full backs, two Centre forwards who struggle to stay on their feet and in Walters a good player who has been flogged to a standstill.
For all those lovers of Pulis, consider this - when he does go, just what sort of team will he have left behind?

It seem's that as soon as anyone say's.. Tony's got it wrong, Delap, Diao, A N other are not good enough they want to put you down bigtime.
What annoys me are the caller's who we're NEVER at the game and even admit that they were ONLY listening..
Heard one guy say.. " I don't know what some fans want, we are doing OK? NO we are NOT. We got to Wembley YES we did but that was LAST SEASON.
We are in the x rd of the Europa Yup, but it does NOT excuse T.P. for NOT playing the right player's unless you work for Radio Stoke.
I listen because I sometimes.. can not BELIEVE what some armchair fans come out with.

I think the weather played a big part re the crowd. I did stay and well done too all those who did so. Just one other point. WHEN Pennant was taken off.. the words ONE Lady used to give T.P. the verbal bashing was XXX rated. DOZENS around me we're totally confused as to WHY he had to take off Pennant. I KNOW he wasn't at his best but F F sake... neither we're HALF the fecking team... after Huth's sending off.. i think many fans knew the inevitable would happen.
I thought we did OK 2nd half, at least had a go but to no avail. ME? I would have left 3 at the back and just GONE for it we lost anyway.. our goal diff is crap.
May as well have put a forward ON not taken ONE OFF. But, I guess that's why they call it P and G. Never rang in myself I would rather make my own mind up by being there.
Answer to your'e last question Swervy.. simple.. He would leave a team totally pisshed OFF, and a whole lot of fans feeling likewise. I think? I now know how the Sunderland fans must have done. BEFORE Bruce was shown the door. The difference with us at STOKE. That will NEVER happen will it?
