Ill Ask again why was tate made MOM in the game before everton and made the sunday paper premiership team in the game before that????? why are you ignoring his outstanding first two games and picking the one where every player played rubbish.....like i say selected and easy target...

Its obvious that football reporters dont share his view if they include him in the team of the week and its not as if he has played many games through injury. The EP made him MOM in the game before everton so why jump on the band wagon of the tate haters because he had a bad game and not only him you can count all the team.....Tate is made a scapegoat and as he has proven himself it is not warranted. We know he is not the best of defenders in the premiership but if he can make the team of the week in one game and be MOM in the next then what does that say about the rest of the defenders.....

If Monk and Tate were first choice material at this level and at this time of their careers they wouldn't have been upstaged by a 19 year old called Caulker last season. There's not really much rational debate to be had as to their relative declining value.
If we had younger that was up to caulkers standard then its obvious that they would play but as we only have Tate and monk then they must play and i admire how well they have both done for the club....one having a good write up in two games out of three and the other scoring the winner....Not bad for two players that you think are not up to scratch.........It's the Management fault for not getting enough cover when they had the opportunity.....So there we have it, we are left with players that are getting on with the job in place of better and younger players and doing a good job as far as what the reporters are saying.....they dont deserve the rubbish that dragon is saying about them....they deserve our thanks for doing their best....
Dai the past is the past and i cant see tate or monk for that matter being part of the long term future, gr8 servants for the club BUT there must be a time when they are pushed or leave on their terms
From a practical point of view when Monk or Tate or Gower play we lose a critical opportunity to blood a younger player, and the younger player loses on the opportunity too. Our future is not in our past. If the younger players are not of better talent than Monk and Tate then we're wasting our time and money having them on our books. It's not about loyalty and respect, it's about our progression as a club and the development of our assets. That doesn't mean we disrespect Monk, Tate and Gower, but they should be players of last resort - IMO.
Yankee top post mate! glad you have brought some sense to the proceedings, on this issue of Tate and Monk. Dai's on his lost cause trundle type soap box, no common sense to his reasoning at all! The thought of Monk or Tate starting games this season, is quite frightening.................
