Agree, but last night was turgid....playing a system that is engineered to invite a press so you can then counter against a team that want a draw and would not commit to in a way that we could execute that plan effectively (lets ignore for a minute the number of passes which were behind the recipient ) should have never been used in last nights game - we should have attacked with the pace and power that we have at our disposal and putthem on the back foot - genuinely I think that the Pompey players had a stroll in the park last night.

What does Baah have to do to get more than 10 mins i do not know
Maama clearly needs a rest and Ince is not going to terrorise a fullback - he is best utilsed when we need a bit more guile against better opposition

I was so annoyed last night...i did not speak a word to my son on the drive back to Brighton
last 10 minutes....when we needed to we pressed and looked much better

Against Millwall and Portsmouth we played as if we were the away team, Millwall after 20 minutes starting playing as the home team but still took 70 minutes to break us down and that was due to a goalie error, looking at the extended highlights we could/should have been ahead before they scored and unlike most other games we had no end product in the last 20 minutes
Portsmouth stuck to the away tactics which made it turgid to watch and we remember all the bad bits, in the end the difference was their goalie made three good saves to efforts on goal and ours didn't save the ONE good effort they created, again looking at the extended highlight we should/could have been 2 or 3 goals ahead before they scored
Not panic mode yet but we have to be much more attacking at home AND take our chances

I'm not joking when I say this, but do you think all those games where we conceded the first goal early, it actually helped us? Being behind forced us to attack and get back into the game, whereas when things are 0-0 perhaps we're too conservative.

We do seem to spring into life after going a goal down but then we managed a good positive start Birmingham too .

I have been saying that at almost every home game this season, BUT when we do score first we seem to start defending and hoping to score on the break the only games where we didn't were QPR, Middlesbrough and Birmingham and on away games if we score first we tend to end up holding on for a draw

Maybe as a team we are not mentally strong enough because Javi always insists it is not his tactics and so did Tom to be fair

but is it not up to the manager to instill that strength of mind, and coach his ethos into the team....if the team are not executing the coaches tactics, then that is up to the coach to get them to by buying into his philosophy....By the way i dont want to change from Javi, but he has to take responsibility/accountability for what the players serve up on the field

They just need to remember we have lost 1 league game in about 13 through good play and aren’t as hopeless as some think based on a couple of average games .

Don’t see why there should be a massive dip in confidence and morale .
