I remember Laudrup saying after the game in interview "I learnt a lot about some of those players today, which gives me something to think about in the future" or words to that effect. There has been stuff said about Bartley since then about his attitude but I have no idea if any of it is true,he maybe has a great attitude and just been unlucky, with Laudrup preferring the experience of Monk but I would say any top level player with potential who cannot use his size and talent to get into a team ahead of a 34 yr old who's legs have gone needs to look at himself IMO!! A season on loan elsewhere is perfect for him,so we will see if he has any problems up there, think I remember Rangers fans saying he aint all that but I think he has all the tools for the job, could be another example of too much too soon though, which seems to be becoming a problem for young British players
If Poz is handed the no 10 shirt he will be a regular starter, i imagine on left wing like fx hazard cutting inside, making assist or shooting, not a Michu sub (de Guzman is that).
Two strikers and another defender and I'll be really happy. Can see us having a real good go at the Europa league next season as well as the league if we get these positions filled in
I love the way Swansea do business! We show how to be successful without spending ridiculous amounts of money! Our club is a true modern club! Playing style and it's financial philosophy
Regardless of Bartley's failings, putting old man Monk in front of him, would have been enough for me to have stuck two fingers up at the club, and the way I see it, Bartley is 100% better than Monk, so in my opinion I hope he leaves and moves on to better things, as we haven't exactly given him much of a run of games, and talking of Monk, he'd better not be in the 25 man Squad this season, the guy is simply geriatric at this level!.......................
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVzzNsoEjQE Looks good doesn't he ? About Bartley, as far as I can recall he's played one good game, against Arsenal and strolled the rest giving possession away while seeking the 'killer' pass. In the Liverpool game he shares the blame, fully or partly, for FOUR of Liverpool's goals, should have been sent off, rash tackle in the box [I think he was already booked], was ineffective in the air and on the ground and he went missing, giving up the ghost, after we went 2 down. Next we heard of him was on twatter where he stated how upset, disappointed, gutted he'd be if he didn't get a Wembley start; available due to Chico's injury. A year in the championship should toughen him up and help him grow and he certainly needs to.
