Your analogy referring to illness and death about a guy on a SIX FIGURE salary who had three months left on his contract, was a ridiculous one IMO. It is the sort of facile emoting which also brought thousands onto the streets in tears when Michael Jackson died. Only this time, nobody has died. All that has happened is that an already wealthy man who has not performed that well this season has got even wealthier. A lot of fans would not mind CP's salary pay off. As for the comment about most fans having a tear in their eye, not unless there were lots of flying ants about in London yesterday.

Ok, as we are all clutching at straw polls, I spoke to 4 Charlton fans yesterday - I am father to two of them - and not one of them gave a toss about Powell's sacking.

Large amount of fans were singing Chrissy Powell's red army at Sheffield United, that was the game I turned on him after his negative tactics are going 2-0 down, but I wouldn't say I didn't give a toss.

there's never going to be evidence that is comparable to say who has lost. its not something we should even have to deal with - which is the greater loss. CP wasnt backed in the championship, the new guy will be, in sorts. you cant compare that. we've now lost the charlton feeling about the club. you think 13-15 is an over exaggeration, wait till next season chap! when they announce 7-8000 and you know half of them aint bloody there. will you still be shouting about 100% support then?

Pathetic attempt to substantiate yourself and clear identification of your small minded inability and lack of generosity. Yes he may have been on a "six figure salary" but to quote the late Bob Crow who was similarly challenged by the small minded he was "worth it"
As I have to put it in simple words for you the analogy was that: whether you thought he had lost it as a manager or like many on here believed that he was a capable manager who was dealt a bum hand, we all have great memories of him as a player who gave everything for the club and his departure is not something to be triumphal over.
If you do not even recognise his contribution as a player then I do not believe you can call yourself a supporter.
I do not know whether you will make an appearance at the Valley tonight, your work load in the house permitting, but you appear to support some form of protest against the Belgian, but do not appear to have said what. Any ideas or are you just a theatre critic in disguise.

CP must be remembered as a fine player and a decent manager who brought us many wonderful memories.
He should have left with Kermit and Stephens, though. No one would have blamed him or doubted his commitment.
