    Per Wales Online:

“Swansea City boss Graham Potter is on the verge of taking over the hot seat at Brighton.

The Premier League side have called a press conference for 4.30pm on Monday when Potter is expected to be unveiled.”

I’m on my way with my CV. I can guarantee that I won’t bull **** the supporters and when I pump my chest and say YJB I mean it, I won’t be a fly by night manager.

I think it will have to be an out of work manager, as anyone in a job right now would be slightly insane to take the job with us knowing the restrictions they will be placed under, plus a much weaker squad than this last season as Dan et al will be sold off.

I honestly think it will be Toshack. Because he is cheap and already at the club, Is he ready or good enough I don't know but I have doubts. I listened to him speak on how Potter was playing and how he set up and was less than impressed. Though he has done well with the 23's a different proposition though being up against more experienced managers. would I be excited by his appointment no and would worry for our championship place. However I would prefer him to Coleman.

Though not mentioned I would like the Cowley brothers from Lincoln City. another gamble but fancy they would do a good job, but no more than a hunch.

From those mentioned I think it would be either barnsleys manager or I would take Gary Rowett.

The trust statement on potters departure . One paragraph I thought was amusing and clutching at straws was the following:
"We know there is significant concern among the fans that Graham’s departure could lead to other major departures from our club. We call on the owners and decision makers at our club to be open and transparent with the fans at this critical time, as well as make every effort to ensure the right person is chosen as manager and that they are given all the tools necessary to ensure we build on the progress made and have the best chance of success next season."

Seems to exhibit a complete lack of understanding of the financial position of the club. Support and tools?

Potter was employed to do a job over a 3 to 5 year period and he signed on the dotted line, But he was more interested in getting a foothold in the EFL.....He had no intention of honouring the deal he was offered and it is as clear as day now......If he was offered an established club with money then i could understand but Brighton ffs a team that was lucky to stay up these past few seasons and are one of the favorites for relegation again for next season.....The club admitted they are in that position because they dont have funds and are in no better financial situation than what we are.....Potter has let the club down big time and I'm afraid he is just another manager just like Sousa who will fail........He is history now and we move on. Just another day at the club...

Every club is in a better financial position than us. I am sure and hope Potter will be a success.

I'll try one more time...….Dai, everything is relative. Brighton my not have much money, but they are not in full cutback mode. Their budget next year will be very much like this year. They have their own ground (freehold) with a new stadium on it. They have a big sponsor and are generally stable.
You mention the contract with Potter......but that would have two sides to it and are you sure the club kept their side of the deal? More so, there would have been implicit support discussed if not contractual......such as....we have a good team but a lot of youngsters that need developing and bringing through. You will have support to deliver your targets regarding survival and future promotion. No-one had heard of this new wonderboy you have. He might have expected that he could keep him and get a chance to develop his team and playing ethos.
Then again, he might have done his due diligence (I know you don't understand this subject!) and realised that the club was on a downward spiral dn the owners did not have any desire to invest to stop it.

Frankie - with Dai, if at first you don’t succeed, give up ..... and just accept that he either doesn’t understand or he won’t admit his mistake(s)....... <laugh>
