I saw this article a few days ago, and as you will note it featured in the rather dubious Daily Star; nevertheless it's worth a look.
With Didier Drogba now confirming that he will be leaving Chelsea and not going to another English club, Stoke boss Tony Pulis has found an alternative to his (not really his) plan to bring the Ivorian to the Britannia; bring in the man once dubbed the ânew Didier Drogabâ.
According to the Daily Star, Pulis is looking to bring in Andre Villas-Boasâ best buddy, Romelu Lukaku, to Stoke City on a season long loan deal to give the player some much needed playing time and to reignite his stuttering career in English football, as well giving Stokeâs forward line a boost.
Lukaku, who joined Chelsea before Villas-Boasâ arrival and cost the club £18m last Summer, only made eight first team appearances for the club last season and not scoring a single goal. Lukaku expressed his anger about his time at Chelsea thus far in the aftermath of the Champions League final, claiming has learned ânothingâ at the club.
However, Stoke as well as West Ham, are interested in the teenager who netted 33 times in 73 games for Anderlecht and won something rather dubiously (from my English âdonât want to upset anyone point of viewâ) called the âBelgian Ebony Shoeâ in his time at the club.
