The point that many others have made, and you've ignored, is that by staying up the extra money will a) clear our debts and b) give us a massive advantage over Championship sides if we do go down

Also, the Academy produces player. I'd love it if we could start churning out players like Bellamy, Sutton, Eadie and Green again and not being forced to sell them because we need the money

    oh stop moaning.
We can spend that money to increase stadium capacity, giving us greater financial independence. We can invest it in scouting networks and the academy to nurture cheap talent locally and find cheap talent abroad. Yes, other clubs can do this too, but its still going to benefit us.

The alternative is we go down, and are not able to expand the stadium, upgrade the network, invest in the academy. That leaves us in a **** situation when it comes to trying to get back in the Prem, where all the teams will have 50m to improve all elements of their setup in comparison to us.

Can see your point Yarco but as I have been banging on for ages we will always be a small fish in this big pond and will be forever in the list of those who might go down
All this money will do us widen the gap between PL and CCC and that's a bad thing

So what are you saying, then? That you'd rather we get relegated so we don't have to worry about how to best spend the increased revenue when it kicks in next season?

I suppose you called David McNally all sorts of names when he announced the club had a seven year plan. 7 years...outrageous! How dare he think and - god forbid, plan for our club seven years in advance.

How many more logical and rational answers do you need before questioning the short-sightedness of your point?

Dear me, do the maths please. Should we stay up and receive this 'pot of gold' in the event we do get relegated the following season, we will have a distinct advantage over other CCC clubs when it comes to transfer spending, I'm also sick of the 'little ol' Norwich' tag. While we are nowhere near as big as a Man Citeh or Chelsea etc. etc., we are NOT a small club FFS. We also have the potential to grow PROVIDING we can maintain our EPL status. Am I the only one on here with ambitions for my club ? <doh>

No sooner do I mention David McNally than, as if by magic...

Hopefully, the cost will be covered by our increased Premier League revenue
    next season <cheers>

I really wish you would see the point of the thread.

IF we stay up , we are in no stronger a position financially
in relation to other PREM TEAMS than we are today.

Investment in Academy and Ground Improvements
are secondary to Quality Players being purchased.

If we cannot get players today,it aint going to
be any easier in next window.

Right, not going to spending much time on this because others have broken it down and you still ain't having a bar of it - yes, we appreciate that all the other teams get the money - what it really means is that 20 of the 92 league clubs will get probably the biggest financial foot up in football history.

you seem to assume that all premier league managers want the same players - and that bidding wars will still occur, with no financial ceiling due to everyone's bigger wallets? If you mean, can we compete with the man utds and the Chelsea's of this world - no, clearly not - but I don't think anyone thought we would be able to - but perhaps we will be able to compete with teams we previously couldnt...the WBAs, the Villa's etc...

But most importantly it makes us one of the haves, rather than one of the have nots...

Also, this rolling financial fair play comes in next year (I think?) - which will hopefully see the more wealthy clubs have to be a lot more thoughtful in how they go about purchasing players over any three year period -

If you really, really want to see astronomical and obscene sums of money thrown at 'top of the range' players, like Mata or Aguero, and their accompanying wages, and literally nothing else, then I suggest you find a different club to support.

(Hint - I just gave you two (2) very large clues <ok>)

I have supported City since 1971.season ticket holder for 25+ YRS
and have no inclination to support Man City or Chelsea.

I have been one of the biggest critics of Abramovich on here
and blame him along with SKY for the reasons we cannot and
never will be able to compete at top table.

This is the whole point of this thread to try and
educate the supporters who see this mythical
"pot of Gold" as our saviour.

Agreed with this. We do have the potential to grow and become a mainstay in the premier league. Other teams have done it, why can't NCFC?
    show some ambition.

next season, as this one, there will be 20 teams in the EPL, each with a squad of 25 players plus under age players. this is a total of just 500 players contracted out on the population of the entire world.just how many players we will identify as transfer targets will other clubs have identified as their targets? i would say that there will be minimal interference from others.
