Well said that man. When we were promoted I was predicting we would finish around 10th. What I've seen at Southampton is that we have no big ego's, this has been largely down to Adkins. No players ego's are bigger than the team. Who knows where he will end up, but as you can see all Saints fans have a very high opinion of him! Best of luck.
What did you expect, they still think they're one of the clubs that can challenge for the title, despite 20+ years of evidence to the contrary? Deluded and arrogant.
That's not a fair comparison. Pardew had a large transfer budget to play with as he sold a mule for 35million. He may not have spent the money but it was there as a nice cushion for him to fall back on. Liverpool had no such luxury.
OP, it's a fair enough suggestion, but it would never happen. We will either promote from within, or go for a manager that a team of international superstars will respect and play for, and your guy just won't get that. I wish him well, but sorry, he'll never manage Liverpool.
I dont get this thread for a couple reasons: 1. Why is a Saints fan touting their manager when he's clearly done a great job for them? Dont you want to keep hold of him? 2. As good as he is, the guy has no experience at Prem Management or top level management. No disrespect to him or Saints, but its a completely different game.
I wasn't touting him as I don't want him to leave I just wondered what Liverpool's fans thoughts are on going for a manager for his achievements rather than just a name.
His achievements are admirable and one day he could be a manager for a big club. BUT until he has managed in the Prem, had some success with a club in the Prem and perhaps had success with more than one club in the Prem, I dont think he would be right for us. The pressures and expectations are completely different and add to that the man management of Super egos and the problems with player power that vexs even the very top managers nowadays. I'd also say that Bolton went with Coyle, who had less than a season of Prem management with Burnley and it hasnt worked out very well for them. One day he might be a candidate but that would be many years from now
Well no-one at this time, but Carra and Gerrard both have some potential in the future. Would you have considered Dalglish after ***an stepped down?? Look how that turned out.
Well looked how the current England manager faired with us! Not everyone is cut out to manage at this level.
