anyone who thinks 2 cups aint enough is seriously deluded... though thinking a southampton manager in league one could take over any where in the prem is deluded as well....

 

That made me laugh, Lambert will obviously smash in 30 premier league goals a season.

I think the argument is that Southampton are top of the championship, not in league one. Not a bad achievement considering the size of some clubs in the championship this season (Brum, West Ham, Leeds, Boro & Leicester) and their respective budgets in comparison to Southamptons.

 

I have just had a quick wiki search to make sure that I didn't miss you winning the champions league or the FA cup since "the messiah" returned, and it appears you have only won the ONE league cup. Tell me who is deluded.
I was also referring to the fact that moreinjuredthanowen thinks that Adkins is a manager of a league 1 club (at least he realised he is a manager, unlike on of the other posters!)

Contrary to (ill-informed) opinion here, Adkins is on the brink of returning Southampton back to their 'glory days' (call it what you will) as founding members of the PL.

He's come a long way from being the Physio at Scunny United to managing the best team in the Championship - better than West Ham, who have a 'PL proven' manager, and were last season in the PL themselves.

Anyone will tell you how hard it is to get up there in the Championship. Many teams have gone down and struggled to get back - Middlesbrough, Reading, and even Southampton for a period. If Wigan go down, I don't think we'll see them back for a while either.

We'll no doubt find out next season whether Adkins is cut out for the top flight, but the signs look good so far.

It's not as if he was suggesting we go for Paul Jewell, is it?


P.S - No, I'm not saying we should go for Adkins. What I am saying is he may surprise us next season. How many of us would've laughed this time last year if Brendan Rodgers was suggested, or Paul Lambert?

Regarding Ricky Lambert, I think we should be aiming a little higher. Although, Grant Holt has outscored our forwards this season, and Lambert is arguably better than him.

 

Ian Atkins is a physio. Who created the Atkins diet. Only deluded people would think he is an actual football manager.

He might also win the FA Cup this season,but your deffo deluded to think any manager can win the CL with a club that has'nt qualified for it.
