It was a dump but I like my spit and sawdust pubs. The Rosedene was a weekend millionaires paradise and still is but canny for MILFS.
The Blandford was my first pub at 15 on a Saturday afternoon. Four bottles of Double Maxim later i was out of my box.

The Smugglers, that's the one. Had a fair few sessions in there - going years back to the early 90's mind you.

These are my current 'local' watering holes in Helsinki - I'll be seeking a few fresh alternatives in the New Year, variety being the spice of life and all that:

My 'local, local' closes down between November and February: lovely place for a pint or two by the beach in the summer, and in the spring if the winter has been cold enough for the sea to freeze for skiing, hiking round the archipeligo etc:

Not quite Annfield Plain, or Lanchester for that matter.

Google earth must have photoshopped that. It looks clean and tidyish compared to the tip it usually looks like.! I am qualified to criticize your home town - it's mine too ! Back in the day use to do all 4 pubs and 2 clubs on Fri/sat nights. They were worth going to then.

I remember about 10-15 years ago the Plainsman would be heaving. Then I didnt go for a few years. Next time I went I was met by two people proping up the bar, the landlord behind the bar eating a kebab and an expensive drink. Cheap supermarket deals have alot to answer for I reckon. People sooner stop in or go to eachothers houses.

Me and the other half almost went there for lunch last week as we had a few days in York.

Stayed in hotel indigo 2 mins walk away. Only reason we didn't is my sense of direction told us to go the complete opposite way so went elsewhere :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Looks a proper pub. But gutted to have missed out now.

£4.50 for a pint of Veltins. £5 if you drink Peroni.

Okay if you are a real ale drinker as it's voted as one of the best in Hampshire.

Been in there a few times, my mate used to live the other side of the VW garage next door to it. My 'local' is the George & Dragon Cheadle.
