Well every boozer is blue if you ask them lot mate, this city is theirs apparently, aside from all the empty seats... I won't sing the song now. Last time I watched United in there vs Southampton it was absolutely rammed and every screen had United on, every single screen. City were on the following weekend against Spurs, there were 30 max in there and half the screens were showing rugby.

last place I drank in down the plain was the queens head. but used do drink a lot in the pub on the corner of New Front St and West Rd - was that the Plainsman?
Queens Head is still open, but its had more of a small nightclubby theme for about 10 years now. It was gutted out and modernised and is now empty most of the time, even on a Friday/Saturday night. The one on the corner was the Smugglers/Corner House/Fosters Lodge but has been closed for about 5-10 years. The building is used for selling 2nd hand stuff now. The Plainsman has burnt down. You can see it on the google image a few doors along to the left of the Demi. Its not there now though. New houses stand in its spot.

I just remembering it being a bit of a dive in the 70s and 80s Gil. First pub I ever had a beer in Sunderland was The Rosedene. 15yo, 3 bottles of Double Maxim and bolloxed.
