I don't see how. I can't imagine any nationmal manager preparing his side for a World Cup will permit players to disappear for negotiations, medicals, photo's etc. Of course if all the underhanded tapping up has taken place already and the signature is the final tick in the box then yes I guess deals will get done in May...
We signed Rosicky before a world cup Going to be much harder if we finish 5th though, need to rely on getting lucky with a Suarez
It's the Way we've lost this game that is the most worrying. Can anyone, even the most ardent Wenger supporter, hand on heart, think that he can do anything different next season with a couple of new players. I look at today's team and think, not bad. Player for player we have better than Everton.
When was the last time we actually won? Was it the Everton FA cup game, or am i forgetting something? EDIT: I think it was the NLD
It's hard not to say that this was a capitulation from us. I just don't want people blaming the players when its the manager that is responsible. Not one player on today's pitch wasn't a first teamed or a player that Wenger didn't buy. I'm certain that another !manager would get these players playing better.
The manager & his coaching staff. Does that mean you blame him/them if a player skies a penalty? Regardless of formation, too many of the players were ****e and are regularly proving themselves to be squad members as opposed to 1st team choices.
You only have to look at the difference in the United's of Fergie and Moyes, or the Everton's of Moyes and Martinez to realise a good tactical coach with very similar sets of players can achieve significantly different results. It's patently clear after 8 years that AW cannot achieve anymore than he currently is with the calibre of players at his disposal. I have to question what he's sticking around for. He's got nothing good to prove, he's just tarnishing his own reputation now.
No, i don't if they miss a penalty, but we didn't miss a penalty, we were all over the shop tactically, and that lies in the manager's purview. It's up to him to organise the team in a way that we can cope with the opposition. Today, maybe we should have moved Verm to LB to deal with Lukaku, and just play Monreal at CB, because they weren't offering much of a threat through the middle, and Lukaku was bossing monreal on the wing.
That's right... We lost 6-3, 5-0, 6-0 and 3-0 to the top 4 due to individual errors such as missed penalties...
Why have they been shown up consistently against the better teams this season? The players are good but its the duty to get the players playing the way you expect. He is the manager and its his responsibility. I can understand if we got outplayed by superior players, but Everton weren't. Martinez got his tactics and game plan right, the same as Brendan. They both exploited Wenger's tactical weaknesses and stopped us from playing. These are two teams with as good or lesser quality than us.
We did? I must have been watching a different game to you then! Kyle, I appreciate the fact that AW was handed a lesson by Martinez today which is why I have at last agreed he needs to go. What I don't accept is that he hold all or most of the blame. The players were ****e once again regardless of their positions. Rambo made that abundantly clear when he was our MOTM yet only played for 20 minutes after being out for months.
Wowee, I think today's game was a tipping point for a lot of fans, many fans are now saying it's time for Wenger to go.
