exactly so how the f is last night showing any improvement? ffs they had more chances than us, ran out of ideas but still ran the pants off our unfit players.
moreno, lovern, markovic, can and lallana; would we say 12 + 10 + 10 +10 +15, roughly, in market value? So 57 in total. But yes, there was a reason I said in monetary terms and not necessarily football terms.
We got a point and scored two goals. Regardless of the opposition, that's an improvement on our last three Champions League games and last four league games.
bit generous with the markovic value anyone ever seen this lad play elsewhere, as i am struggling to see why we paid £20 mill that alone 10 for him, aspas was crap we all know, but he cost no where near that amount, and at least he had stats to back it up, just couldn't emulate that here sadly as dif country.
Apprently he looked good in the Europa League last season as well, although I can't claim to have seen him myself. He's also only 20 years old, is living in a new country and league, started the season injured and came into a team playing poorly. While he hasn't justified his fee yet, I don't think he's our biggest problem right now.
Yeah, supposed to have played well for Benfica last season. We can't expect a 20 year old to come into a team that are low on confidence throughout and hit the ground running. We are going through a really tough spell at the mo,we need to be patient with the players (apart from GJ ) and give them our support.
To follow up on your comments that your team has no legs, I read that Ancellotti stated after their match that he expects Basel to go through to the knockout rounds as they are a much fitter team than you guys, and gave Real a really tough match last night.
normally i would argue we have home advantage, but i cant lol, just don't know who is going to to the business in front of goal for us, and we know how ****e our defence is, so conceding is a for gone conclusion, its jut can we better it the other end, and with who? we have been here before, but we had class players then to get us out the ****e, struggling this time round.
Yes - the lad is an elite level talent. He was always going to take a year or two settle in, he's only 19, new country, language, and playing in a team with no confidence. The lad is on the same talent level as the likes of Gotze, Isco, Hazard etc - that is how good he is and how highly regarded. I'll admit, I expected more from him but I have no doubt he will deliver. Amazing at the number of fans writing him off already - these fans should be looking at players like Lallana who are already established and supposedly top class and are 'Prem proven'. These players are the frauds.
did that as well jimmy you say he is going to a good player, great, but we need players now not 2 yrs time, and no guarantee he will come good either, just the £20 mill did not make sense at all, lallana was over priced yeah we all know that, but he is playing, and we know what he can produce.
I agree that the timing of his signing is questionable - however, if we waited another year for Markovic, his price will go up and bigger clubs will want him. I can't fault the club for looking at quality youngsters as I think this is the right approach. But the pressure Markovic is under is because the first teamers are sh*t and aren't delivering. If Rodgers had spent £25m on a top class player instead of Lallana, then maybe the attack would be a lot better.
