i only live 20 miles away from Rotherham, so I went to watch them try to beat the smoggy's today. If we are stil in league 1 next season, they have a couple of players it might be worth taking a look at; a centre half named Ihiekwe who is better than any of ours and a 20yr old forward named Kyle Vassel, who caused Boro all sorts of problems in the second half. anybody heard anything about them?

I've not seen or heard or either of them.

Here you can have this one which was posted on the match thread by @Sunderpitt

We have 5 CBs, should any be retained?

Also Ovideo is a good LB but too expensive to keep? Hume good 1st teamer

I reckon, Catts and Leadbitter are too slow together..Catts and Power works.

Is 09 the creative midfielder together with Maguire... one striker with Mcgeady

That is the first team...I presume Watmore will come into the equation...not sure about the Celtic lad, but Gooch can go and although Honeyman runs around a lot I doubt he is starter
Mceouch (sp) is a 50 50 for me

Let's hope Griggs improves

So that is I think my retain list..

We need better CBs and CMs.. I think we have a couple of youngsters that may make the cut (if they sign a new contract?)

Well this went down like a lead balloon, sorry guys, I'll try to think of something more interesting next time

Give us a chance marra !!!

Think JR’s priorities (if we are in Lge1) have to be Central defenders and a bit more power in midfield.

If in Championship then f*ck me... we need a right overhaul AGAIN !!!

kirklees, some pf us go to graft some of us go onth e p*ss. Ia m of the latter persuasion and get on here when i can. Havent heard of either of them but like HaA said give is a chance.I will have a oook when i get a chance. be tomorrow not now cosav had a grgle or two.

Haven't heard of them tbh so couldn't say.

In theory I wouldn't want us to be too dramatic in how many we sign but we do need a few in and out. CM and CB are the key areas we need quality in. Grigg looks half asleep but then again so did Wyke when he was getting back to match fitness so maybe he'll be a lot better next season.

The season hasn't finished yet.
If we are still in League One we will probably lose some of our best players and have to rebuild for this league - free transfers are the norm, we should be able to cherry pick the best young players from this league.
If we are in the Championship we will lose our worst players and have to rebuild with more quality - we would need a complete new defence, stronger midfield and a pacey striker.
In either case we have loan players and players at the end of their contracts so they will need to be replaced anyway.
If we sack Jack Ross we will prove that we are a shambles of a club. We have not gained much from constantly changing managers.

Chill out, it's dead on here at the minute mate. Coincided with losing at Wembley and our loss of form at a critical time.

For what it's worth, I think this topic would get more interest when we know what league we're in for next season.

Mate my son plays under 14s footy and the centre halves he has in his team are better than ours!!!

Don't know how fluid things are transferwise in League 1, but most of the squad have contracts that run through next season. We are 1-2-2 in our last 5. The only team we beat was smaller than us. This is League 1, but still each match, we were either noticeably smaller or slower than our opponent - and sometimes both! This is what our recruiting needs to sort out, but w/o african mercenaries, please.

I like the Coventry front lads, they gave us trouble plus the Fleetwood striker, 2 defenders (one 6'5") and a midfielder.

The centre half that I mentioned, is African descent but he is English. He's big and strong and appears to read the game quite well. He also has a bit of pace and skill on the ball. All qualities lacking in our current centre halfs. I'm no football expert but he looked like he wasn't out of place in the championship. His fellow centre half was as bad as ours, though, kept giving the ball away!!
