Possible players for next season

Well said Finchyblue. Not sure about Benyon, his goalscoring record isn't very good. Neither do I want us to sign Marvin Morgan who has been mentioned on the gasroom. Both players are very overrated IMO

 

ron i will tell you harrolds best position........left back ...........................in the changing room.you couldnt even leave him to clean the boots cos he would bound to miss some out

 

any news on that non league winger we had on trial gosneyi think was his name.

benyon i am not sure about to be honest but i will go with whatever waddock chooses,but i still think rendell will score plenty of goals next season,he has shown glimpses of what he is capable of and that was when his head was all over the place after his tragic personal loss,so i think there is a lot more to come from him.

 

Would I be right in thinking that Rendell and Benyon played together at Torquay? If they did then they could work very well as a strike pairing for us.

I know pericard had a shocker last season but was is a poor swindon team. He had a good season they year before that when we were in league 1 and he started at Oldham.

Who knows it's a guessing game as to how people gel with a team. I'm trying not to get to excited about 'big names' last time that happened we got dubbery . Hahahaha well done Oxford great signing !

 

yeh just look at akinde he fitted straight into our team first time round second time he was useless

 

I heard my beloved Colchester are in for Marvin Morgan aswell as you guys. I bloody well hope not, he's crap. I'm hoping Colchester can get Ashley Grimes deal done as soon as possible.

 

Now Grimes would be a good player. Gasroom seems to think we've been linked with Jermaine McGlashan too. Surely not?

 

I'm with JSwwfc, Harrold was no where near as bad as people make out, he certainly wasn' great and I was glad we released him but we have a lot worse.... Fola Onibuje! Do not forget Harrold scored a hatrick in on TV!

 

Scapegoat is most certainly the word for Harrold. He was no where near as bad as many people think.

I agree that Grimes would be a good signing. He's the better player out of all the strikers mentioned lately.

 

Harrold was so unbelievably poor for us and the only reason he was played was because he was on a permeanant contract and not on loan. When Akinde came in, he was dropped, when Revell came in, he was dropped, when Pittman was fit, he was dropped etc. Fairplay he stayed fit, but its not hard when you have such an abject effect in matches.

 

He wasn't unbelievably poor at all. On another subject, how do you rate Ben Strevens?

 

I thought Strevens was ok, but got frustrated by how unintuitive he seemed to be in the penalty area as he never seemed to be able to finish off chances, until the last few games of the season. He's a lot more skilful than Harrold and gives away half as many fouls and is fairly fast, so I don't think he's too bad, but we could do better.

 

I agree with the few on here who defend Matt Harrold as a pretty decent Div 2 striker. People seem to have too extreme views IMO. He certainly isn't the best player we have seen, but nowhere near the worst, and I actually think he had very good close control. If anyhting that was his strong point. I think his finishing could have been better. So why all the hateful bile? He's a decent bloke doing his best, which is OK.

 

I heard Colchester are after Dean Bowditch and Ashley Grimes. I was wandering if you muppets think Wycombe might be interested in them as well. I hope you end up getting Marvin Morgan and the U's get Bowditch and Grimes.

 

I'd defo have Strevens over Harrold, he is far more creative and can do a good job on the left wing. Just imagine Matt Harrold on the left wing *shudder*
