Forest played well I must say, BUT 3rd eye, you were the difference between the two teams (and the brilliant Erik The Viking) !! <laugh> <cheers>

Also seeing as thats probably Guy and Stuarts last game in charge I think overall they did pretty brilliantly for the 5 games (except the 45 at Derby). cheers.

A great result on Saturday. from the skysports report I got the impression that 3-0 was a little flattering but very happy to take it!

Thanks for the historical information Devon. The first game my Father took me to at Fratton Park was Pompey v Notts Forest and I also recall it was the year Notts Forest won the cup (against Luton in the final). Yor information pinpoints the game to the 58-59 season. Some unreliable memories. I recall being impressed with Jimmy Dickenson's play and Phil Gunter. I think the game was a draw. I was also impressed by Nottingham forests wingers that day. One was named Dwight but the other ones name did not register with me at the time but I suspect it may have been Tony Barton who later played many very good games for Pompey. It would have been Pompey's last season in the first division I think.
