Pompey fans appear to be applauding City fans there. Nice touch Brilliant scenes. Wish I could have been there.
I hope that this season has been a lesson to Acun and that from here on forward footballing decisions should be entirely left to footballing people. Install the right footballing minds and let them get on with it. This season plummeted basically at the outset due to Acun, the media man, the showman, the entertainer, making a catastrophic Manager change in the name of the need for entertaining football. It was unfair to everyone, not just the players and Rosie, but even to Tim Walter who was catapulted into an environment that had no place for him or his style. Football clubs should have a sense of stability about them, for the Manager, the players, the backroom teams, all the way down to the porters and tea ladies. Tweak things for improvements but don't go all gung-ho and wipe the slate clean at the beginning of every season because your mind is thinking like an entertainer. So, give Ruben a chance and listen to the footballing minds.
It was a weird feeling at full time. More relief than ecstatic celebration. All the news prior to the game about our potential demise if we were relegated and potential sale, if we weren’t, left an uneasy feeling. This background edginess, hasn’t been helped with mutterings about Selles future, alongside an unsure summer ahead with funds for new players likely limited, I feel like I’m celebrating avoiding being hit by a car, to look up, and see a truck coming my way.
