I'm not in the know as to whether or not he'll get rid of Selles,I've just had a hunch for a couple of weeks and I'm not saying it would be the correct or proper decision either...We have already suffered through a lack of stability, more would follow. As for Illicali,I'm fairly sure if he got the chance to walk away from this relatively unscathed he'd grab it with both hands. His body language of late looks to me(and it's purely a personal opinion) that he's losing interest.Anyway,I'm sure we'll find out about Selles and the Turk in due course now that the picture has cleared.
Well we made it over the line. I’m sure that was Selles job and although we have stuttered it would be harsh to let him go. But of course we have history in that department. We are losing a few in summer and that will be the chance to look for a few new larkers. Full backs x 2, and a striker and see what sort of fist he can make of it. He should get 10 to 15 games at least.
Ffs the bloke took us from bottom of the league and managed to keep us up, we've been blighted by injuries throughout and even his 2 big signings in January got fkn injured, he has tried to polish a turd with what we had available and somehow kept us up, and yet some are all for yet another managerial sacking, thought we needed stability not yet another managerial merry go round.
He's a proper player. Never been first choice here but he always ends up playing a lot of games. I thought he was done here last summer but he ended up being a key player. He's been left exposed a lot at left back with wingers running at him but he gets on with it and usually comes out of it OK. He could've been in a playoff chase at Blackburn but there's been no sign of him moping. I don't think there's been a better outfielder than him across the season.
Just got back from the Wolds Inn celebrating glorious 21st place with half a dozen pints of Black Sheep ! Get in! I did lose £25 on my bet for city to go down though .
yea in the other thread about player awards or summat i had macca as unsung hero, he's been playing out of position which ius remarkable
Never. In. Doubt. Don’t know what all the fuss was about And breathe. What a stressful, painful afternoon that was. I’d resigned myself all week to L1 next season, so absolutely buzzing like the proverbial fridge, to be proven wrong. The players did what was morally right for the long suffering support, turned up, and showed effort, fight, heart, particularly in 1st half. Can’t deny 2nd half was stomach churning stuff, but we got over the line by the finest margins to live again in the Champ’ship. We always say goal difference is worth a point, and so it proved. Will Selles survive to lead us next season, I don’t know, think he deserves a chance with his own squad & without hinderance of injuries. Right now, off to celebrate with a glass or three of vino, and enjoy the moment. Well done to our fab travelling support, we heard you loud & proud, safe journey home. UTT.
I hope not We need some bloody stability not this constant churn of players and managers A new manager will want his own players and that's another complete overhaul. Never mind needing stability can we financially afford all the change
Selles has done what he needed to do. He deserves to stay. Some of the football has been dour but there are reasons for it - the confidence seems to have gone the closer we got to today and thats understandable to an extent because theres currently nobody playing to properly captain the side and kick some arses. We've had a lot of very poor ref decisions this season, we're missing a lot of players that are frankly a cut above who we've had to rely on, we've had critical suspensions and in a few cases we've just been really unlucky. It's up for debate how much of the above should fall under Selles' accountability. I'd prefer to see him kept on for next season with a proper go at it. If we have a full strength side and we see max 1 shot per game again then by all means, questions get asked quickly.
I just saw that on top of everything else, Grimsby missed out on the playoffs and York didn't get promoted automatically to the EFL. Today is indeed...a good day.
There was a snippet on 5larve (may have been Talk Sport, we flipped channels on the journey) on the drive back, He loves us all (probably not Kalman & a few others). He feels the love & around the stadium it was the same as it’s always been. & he loves ‘Ull. ( pronounced it as ‘Ull too”
