This definitely goes completely against my normal mindset but the closer we get to kick off, the more I’m thinking that we start the game with 1 point and that may well be enough depending on the other results. If we go gung ho, over commit and find ourselves a goal or two down, then I’m not sure we can come back from that setback. The important thing for me is that we are actually ‘competitive’, win those second balls, keep up the intensity, try to control the pace of the game and then try and nick something when an opportunity arises or we actually create one. Like everyone else, I’m hoping we can get our noses in front and hold on but if not, we have to make sure that we don’t concede or it could very well be ‘game over’, literally.
If we turn up showing passion, grit, determination we will all be wondering why they haven't previously.
You're not wrong!! Honest opinion... I genuinely believe some of these charlatans thought we were too good to arrive where we are today. The harsh reality has finally arrived and this game will define the size of their wage packet next season.
It has to be controlled aggression, we definitely can’t afford another needless red card from someone who is over hyped.
A return to vertical football? Get in their faces, but not in a stupid aggresive way. Fight for and win 2nd balls. Turn defence into attack at speed. And, most of all, put the ball in their net, a few times and at least 1 more time than they put it in ours.
I don't give a **** about the owner or the ****ing underperforming so called footballers. What I do care about is our great Club and my fellow fans whose suffered enough this season. I've got it in me head that it's too late now, I don't think these useless twats have got the fight needed in 'em, so that's why i'm not getting stressed about today. We'll come back up again, we've done it plenty of times before in our history, even if it's not at first attempt like last time. Can I say, well done to the travelling fans, if we do go down, that journey home is gonna be even longer. Safe journey home travelling Tigers and I hope it's an happy one just for you lot.
Decent post Ric. But I think it was Alan Sugar. Him of 'The Apprentice' fame (never watched it) and former Spurs chairman who said '99% of football players are mercenaries and couldn't give a crap about loyalty' (or something on those lines). He was probably right...It's a job, not a skull numbing 9 to 5, but it's still a job and they'll go anywhere if the money was better. Much like you and I. Though I didn't admit it at the time. I never had much loyalty to the people I worked for. I suspect most football larkers are the same. On the game today 3-1, either way.
We're all one club, we all want the same outcome today. Arguments and differences aside, hope we're all smiling at FT.
My biggest concern is that we'll set up not to lose, because by default we still have a chance if we draw. If we try to play on the counter against a team like Portsmouth, it'll just end 0-0 and given that both Luton and Derby have both suddenly remembered how to win, that's not going to help us one bit.
At the risk of sounding morbid, I nearly popped my clogs last year, so if we do go down I'm happy I'm still here to see it.
However I try to philosophise about what will be will be, I still feel sick with dread. I just don’t trust Selles to pick the right team or send them out with the right instructions.
Some tarts on here will be under it if we're relegated, if we are I'll just look forward to another eventual promotion. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Its all relative like Ill be very sad if we lose for a bit It doesnt matter at all in life But its part of why we love football
I sincerely hope it does as they dont appear to he playing for the shirt/ badge/ club/supporters or the city. Modern day football. Stick it.
I disagree I dont think theyre not playing for the shirt 3 teams go down.. We are just the third ****test so far after 45 games Weve not been embarrassed Its no way like the last relegation
Once you reach the point when you realise that every day is a good day things become much less worrysome.
