Trouble is Lyndy that there are also women and children at the match .... pre-match entertainment should appease the whole crowd and not just the dirty mac brigade ... to be honest when I saw them their act is so lame all I could think of was ..... look at the thighs of the blonde one who had an arse to match lol,

That's a bit unfair Mrs J. Whilst I don't think the whole thing adds anything to the day I agree with lyndhurst about the girls giving up their time etc. They do get ignored most of the time and I'm not so sure there are many of the "dirty mac brigade" out and about. But, to personalise it regarding how they look is a wee bit below the belt line. I personally wouldn't have them there or any other halftime entertainment for that matter. It's only 20 minutes for god sake so if people can't fill that time with talking to somebody next to them then it's a bit of a bad world we live in. But they are there and if I don't like it then I can simply ignore it and have my chat anyway.

Compared to the comments I heard being said around me what I've said was quite tame .... and we did have a chat at halftime about the blonde's thighs and huge arse <whistle>

You're just being naughty now aren't you. I've heard comments as well although to be fair there aren't many women sat around me so it isn't that bitchy. Most though choose to ignore rather than anything else. May I respectfully sugest you do the same perhaps and get on with your washing up.<cheers>:emoticon-0109-kiss:

Sensible - I think Brent has trod a pretty good path between managing the club's parlous finances on one side and producing a much more competitive squad on the other. Still in a somewhat euphoric state after the match, I did think that Kellett was one who would definitely be good value in the long term. The lad was getting a standing ovation every time he came across to take a second half corner which says a lot about his first half performance on the Lyndhurst side. I don't think I've ever seen an individual get that treatment. I still think he should be signed if possible but in the cold light of Monday, he is very very small. Is a good big-un always better in the lower leagues?

On the Angels, I'm sure they work-hard, enjoy it and do a good job. I am not what a feminist looks like even if Messrs Clegg, Obama and Milliband are, amongst others. If women want to succeed, they should get on and do it and not rely on wingeing. I do though think cheerleading undermines what girls should be aiming at in the modern world. Demeaning is a strong word but I don't like cheerleading.

I did realise it was bait Mrs J hence the word naughty being used. I like to think of myself as being a fair minded man and loathed to putting people down who are doing their thing even if I don't agree with it. I know ladies should be doing the washing and stuff and not strutting about a football ground but who am I to spoil their fun.

The thought of Brent actually buying a player is quite a novel concept notdistant and one not condusive to financial prudence in Argyle's case. We can't afford to pay for a player so to even suggest doing so is not on my radar and especially from the direction it came. As far as Kellett is concerned he was immense on Saturday. Winning stuff in the air and his control and taking on players was great to watch. A bit Noone(ish) who wasn't the biggest fish in the pond either and did ok as memory serves. He ain't doing that badly now either. I would love to sign Kellett but doubt we could afford it sadly.

Angels!! keeps the flasher mac gang busy!! This is ok in the NFL but not here.. Understand they give up their time and enjoy it.. But the ironing needs doing also!

I am with you Sensible there is no need for entertainment at half time..

This was not the case 10 years ago.. entertain your selves.. or is that what they are doing?

Perhaps I have missed the point but i really don't understand why anyone thinks it is acceptable to write sexist and bullying comments about the angels and attempt to sexualise their performance- it is mainly on another site but one or two comments on here are at best inappropriate.

Not going to rise to the bait but it is somewhat worrying than some people might see them as anything other than a dance troop. I have no connection to anyone involved so no axe to grind, but just wish people would leave them alone.

I think it is meant to be banter lyndhurst rather than anything else and I doubt very much that there is much in the way of malice intended. Probably much the same might be said if it was the Chipendales.

I do apologise Lyndy I didn't realise you'd had a sense of humour bypass and as for sexualising the Angels I leave that to the men up at HP and as you sit in the Lyndhurst I'm surprised you haven't heard any comments because that was where I was sat and the comments were flying around thick and fast. Also the Angels have sexualised themselves in what they choose to wear ! As a female I am totally embarrassed by them but if they want to make arses (pardon the pun) of themselves that is up to them !

I haven't had any form of sense of humour failure- i just don't get what is remotely funny about taking the mick out of a bunch of young people who clearly enjoy what they are doing. Neither is it banter, as by definition all involved parties have to take part and not be offended. As previously stated I couldn't care less whether they stay or go but I don't see why the 'older' generation feels the need to criticize them.

No further comments from me ref the angels.

I don't think age has anything to do with it Lyndy it comes down to standards and principles and I've had those since I was a youngster. When I was a promotion girl for Argyle a local hack had set up a Christmas photo shoot with one of the players, when myself and one of the other girls turned up, the choice of player had changed and the plan was for him to be dressed as Father Christmas and we girls to pop out of a sack ..... he'd already sold the picture to the Sun for page 3 so you can guess what type of picture he was planning and both us girls point blank refused to do it ..... exit one seriously pissed off hack. Just for the record its the younger generation at HP that take the mick out of the girls more than us "oldies".

After our great performance on Saturday and rise to 4th we should be more concerned with tonights result. Burton won so we have dropped to 5th which is the down side. However, hurray for upsides as well as down. With Burton winning we have closed the gap on the 3rd place. If, and perhaps I should capitalise that IF, we win on Saturday and the other 2 don't we could be in an automatic position come close of play. Just thought I'd change the tone and topic back to the thread title.
