Yeah could you give us your ratings BSG as it would be nice to see what you thought of them individually.

If you check out post No. 34 I have given a very short view.
I was with BSG & LeedsGill at the game. In view of the fact that it was their first game of this season, I have chosen not to 'steal their thunder' - and BSG has summed up the game very well - although I might have given m.o.m to Jackman.

I am sorry I didn't realise that rting system was mandatory, but here goes:

Nelson - 6 - didn't have much to do but when he was called into action he did it very well, one top class save in the second after.
Fish - 6 - Much improved player on what I saw last season, looked very confident but tired towards the end.
Martin - 6 - like Fish looked composed and disciplined. Vale overloaded him on many occassions but worked well defensively with Jackman.
Barrett - 7 - Good display, looked like a rock at the back and marshalled the defence like a true leader.
Flanagan - 6 - Can't say I noticed him at all, which is not a bad thing, must have been solid.
Whelpdale - 7 - Back to his best, willing to run at defenders and help defensively. First class finish for the second goal.
Montrose - 6 - Efficent performance, did nothing wrong
    Wright - 6 - See Montrose.
Jackman - 7 - Top draw performance, worked tirelessly and linked well Martin.
Burton - 8 - MOM for me. Excellent movement for the first goal, linked well with both Findley and Kedwell, everything that was good went through him.
Findley - 8 - A coup for the club, a real live wire, two good fit and a good footballing brain.

    Subs
Kedwell - 6 - Looked much fitter than last season, couldn't do much going forward as Vale were pushing forward but worked hard to help defensively
Frampton - 6 - Dubious when he came on as a midfield, but didn't look out of place and didn't put a foot wrong
Allen - Not on the pitch long enough to score
