One of the Port Vale coaches booked before the penalty was taken. Vale fan runs on to the pitch and tries to attack the referee. He is dragged off the pitch !!
Final whistle, and it's 0-1 to Pompey. We deserved that ! A win, three points and another clean sheet. Colby Bishop scored his 14th goal of the season.

Thanks Wooperts! So if Colby is out injured, who plays up front? Saydee or Kamara. Boy, hope Yengi comes back in one piece and is picked to start. In the context of things, a very useful win, if rather hard. A point at Oxford would give us 60 points from 30 games. And all before January is out. I think 78 should be more than enough for the play-offs, and around 88 for the autos. Can see anyone getting to 92, as all the contenders are dropping points. If a team up there can put a winning streak of six games from here, that would put them well on the road to the autos. Hopefully it is us.
Ides supports all the league teams in the South I believe, Jasper. He is interested in what is happening at the different clubs
Thanks for the commentary as ever Woops. i did manage to get up in the night and watch this one on ifollow. The result was right and deserved given our domination but our inability to get the ball in the net was the standout problem. In the first half we did not create many chances given our possession. In the second half we could not take the chances we created. With regard to the penalty, I thought Shaughnessy's challenge was fine but the penalty decision was harsh on Port Vale. I was concerned that Lowry may be dropped for Peart Harris before the game which would have been harsh given his form since coming back. Pack's absence solved that problem and both had good games which will create a selection problem ( of the good type!) when Pack returns. I thought Devlin did reasonably well at full back. His attacking play got him into some good positions even if his end product was inconsistent. Defensively however, i would feel more comfortable with Rafferty's return. Lets hope we can similarly dominate possession at Oxford - and get some luck in front of goal! PUP
You caught me out.! I follow Bournemouth as well. And the fortunes of Eastleigh and Havant&Waterlooville!!
What on earth is happening at Westleigh Park? The Hawks are stalwarts of the promotion pack but are looking dead certs for relegation (Isthmian League or Southern League this time I wonder).
