Match Day Thread Port-o v Liquerpool

He was class this evening.

 

It is hard to get a fair gauge on this but we have been calm against Southampton and Porto.
Problem is we do not know whether it was us or the opposition.
Yes we had a couple of moments but even in a very good defensive performance teams normally create chances.
I would have liked (again not that I wanted to see us concede) to have seen how we would have performed if we had conceded at 2-0 up. Until that happens it is very hard to tell where we are at.

That said we just looked balanced - I actually like gini - I hope hendo can get back to form of a couple of seasons back.

Few moments where vvd was rollicking other squad members - one outburst at Milner for not passing forward (I assume) was brill to see.

Agree with all those who have said vvd will be capt next season.

 

Said it before - he is no fuss and just gets on quietly with his job. Yes can have bad games but generally he is a very good player.

Jesus wept folks it was 5 fecking 0 for christ sake. You do not get that score without playing well and it matters not how good or bad the opposition were. Cheer up for feck sake. All this means is you must qualify for the next round without breaking sweat now. What else is there ........................

Exactly, we were being told pre match how good they were (European pedigree etc. etc.)
We ****ing battered them

 

Especially that Saint, needs to cheer up and be positive for a change.

I’m not quite sure where some expect us to get to? Is there any team on the planet that don’t concede a chance or 2 in a game?

 

City, the best team in the World gave Basel 2 clear cut chances and should have given away a pen in a 4-0 win.
