Hardly scouting expertise, noticing some lad scored over 15 from midfield for an average team in the spanish league...
Its the same I think with Graham Carr. Every player who Newcastle have bought who's been attributed to Carr's scouting expertise were all established players in decent leagues.
It's easy to say that now. He was obviously gona be a class signing. It wasn't rocket science that they was a bloke in Spain available for 2.5m that had just scored about 18 goals in La Liga. MON shouldn't have even needed a scouting report. I can't believe Swansea were the only team in for him!
Well plenty others did not have the "scouting expertise" to notice him and I bet questions are being asked at clubs more successful than ourselves.
I've always thought this. All these so called gems he has discovered are all well known to us mere fans never mind professional scouts.
