In the Pop Robson interview on Look North it was disclosed that Pop Robson had recommended Michu to MON however he did not pursue the lead, no guarantee he would have signed of course.
Hardly scouting expertise, noticing some lad scored over 15 from midfield for an average team in the spanish league...
It's easy to say that now. He was obviously gona be a class signing. It wasn't rocket science that they was a bloke in Spain available for 2.5m that had just scored about 18 goals in La Liga. MON shouldn't have even needed a scouting report. I can't believe Swansea were the only team in for him!
Its the same I think with Graham Carr. Every player who Newcastle have bought who's been attributed to Carr's scouting expertise were all established players in decent leagues.
Michu had a great first season but his second season might not be as good
Ireland, Turkey, Spain, Dubai. Did Pop's scouting network have any structure or organisation?
