Darren Bent to Villa didn’t work out to well

Shearer choosing Newcastle over Man Utd

I was actually going to put that myself, it's the first thing that came to mind.

While he seemingly doesn't regret the move (he ruled Newcastle with an iron fist as a player,) he certainly would have been probably not only one of the most prolific strikers in European history, but one of the most successful too.

It crossed my mind but there's no way i was putting it down. At Man Utd he would have won the league a handful of times (I think we can assume he'd have been an improvement on the very good Andy Cole), possibly Champions League, FA Cups, League Cups, etc. Ah well, it's not like he had a terrible career and we chastise players when they don't pick their hometown clubs...

Or to protect his family

It was a Liverpool gangsta called "Pancake". Pretty openly talked about in Liverpool at the time. I struggle to believe it was all true but it was widely talked about as though it were fact in most Liverpool workplaces I was in at the time.

And in a global pandemic, nothing changes

I know ibra "flopped" at barca but he still got a goal every 2 games (probs a lot of sub appearances and also what his record was at the time) as well as a league trophy.

Shevvy was a true flop.

Pogba back to united rather than real?

Veron to Man Utd
Definitely. There have been a few interviews with players from the time about Veron. They all said he was unbelievable and the theory behind his poor showing was Keane occupied the pitch where Veron normally occupied and was effective from. To this day he played one of the best passes I’ve ever seen. Was a European game and he curled a pass with the outside of his boot around a couple of players into the path of someone who then scored. It was sublime.

That was a pre season friendly I think.

A great pass nonetheless.

Shame about Veron, was a superb player who didn't fit unfortunately.

He didn't fit at Chelsea either mind, wasn't just us.

he just wasn't fit enough for the league i think. When it was all about the hustle and the bustle and less about possession football, you can't have someone not putting in the effort and not being physical, especially in the middle of the pitch (you play 4-4-2 as well right?).

by the time he came to us his confidence was a bit shot i think and even when he went back to lazio he was never the same player.
