I'm not saying Figueroa was bad by the way. I don't think anyone played below their usual level. I just don't like the way Robertson has seemingly been written off until next season, same as Ince.
To me you've won your last two and with Sunderland on tuesday you should be thinking this game could be bonus points against a Stoke side who have lost 5 games at home this season, but instead we went into the game negatively.
Worse than that they lost at home to the three bottom teams. Yesterday was a chance for bonus points or a point and we didn't even try for it. And before anyone says we set up for a draw, look at our record of conceding when trying to hold on. Should have gone for the win and might have ended up with a point.
It almost was a perfect team selection for the game. SB went for the 0-0 with tuesday night in mind. No need for mass hissy fitting over the result mind.
I've not seen anyone 'hissy fit' over the result, but I've seen plenty that were totally ****ed off about the team selection and tactics. Almost perfect team selection? **** off.
I wonder how we keep getting away with fielding **** teams without getting fined. Holloway did it at Blackpool once and got a fine. Steve Bruce has done it probably a dozen times this season and the premier league don't give a ****.
We should never set up for a 0-0, it's a shameful thing to do, we should play to win every game, not least because playing for a draw usually results in a loss.
The worst bit for me was Bruce after the game trying to blame the linesman for not giving the offside I think at the most the point of his elbow was offside, very embarrassing.
If we'd held out for the point, I wonder what this thread would look like. I wonder how it would have gone had we not packed the midfield at the expense of strikers.
Every man and his dog are at fault before Bruce, it's just one of the reasons he's such an utterly detestable pig. The players didn't even appeal for offside either did they?
