This is a crunch game, with both teams needing a win in order to stake a claim for top 4.

The last few games have produced some sizzling high-scoring affairs, so entertainment ought to be guaranteed.

Add to the mix that both managers have come under increasing pressure in recent weeks, as neither side has made good on expectations for the season. A loss for either could well be an additional nail in the coffin.

Keep tabs on the action in this thread, lads.

I've even thrown in a little poll, so that we can all have a go at predicting the outcome.

I think it is very difficult to call. Personally, I'd like them to draw, but my head is telling me to go with a 'Pool win, as I think the home advantage is going to be the deciding factor in this match.

Blast!

For some reason, I posted the thread before adding the poll, and now the edit functions won't let me add a poll.

So, simply state "LFC to win," "AFC to win" or "draw" when making your replies, lads.

Draw would suit. Along with a few red cards.

No Ozil for Arsenal, and Sanchez is on the bench.

Giroud and Wellbeck start up front.

"Philippe Coutinho's injury, Sadio Mane's absence, a thin squad and moral-crumpling cup defeats have eroded ambitions for this season. But Klopp must, and will, be given time."
(Jonathan Pearce, BBC Radio 5)

Why must Klopp be given time? None of his predecessors were, and he's doing a worse job than they did!

"There are six or seven teams vying for four positions. It's damaging if you don't finish in top four. If Liverpool lose to Arsenal then it could be a damaging defeat."
(Slippy-G, BBC Football Live webpage)

Stevie, mate, 'Pool have got used to not finishing in the top 4. It'll be a surprise if they do finish top 4 this season, since it'll be an exception to the rule.

If you are going to commentate, please try to use a little bit of honesty, yeah?

Sanchez on the bench is brilliant, loving that.

I thought exactly the same thing, Luvvy!

It's Wenger showing everyone, including the player, exactly who is in charge. Walnut tried exactly the same thing, last season, effectively leading a dressing-room revolt against Wenger, and Wenger relegated him to the reserves for a little while. I note that Walut's on the bench, too.

'Pool 1 v 0 Arsenal
(Firmino, 9)

'Pool score with their first shot on gaol.

Arsenal had a lots of possession in the opening play, but their shambolic defence makes a clown of Wenger.

I sense more goals in this match, lads.

The Gunners are not only being bullied, they're getting a battering.
