Match Day Thread Pompey vs Walsall

Evans cross to Pitman who's header it blocked. Walsall trying to couter-attack but easilly stopped by Burgess and Whatmough.

 

Wilson fouled Lalkovic by throwing him to the ground but gets no card for it.

 

Rose into Evans who gets his head to it but it goes over the bar and out for a goalkick.

 

Pompey once more cut out a Walsall attack but they retain possesion and it goes out for a couple of throws.

 

Talbot has gone down, potentially inured. The physio's on. Be a shame if he is injured, he's had a good start to this campaign and been one of our strongest players

 

Talbot's off. Subbed out for Bennett. Evans back to right back again.

 

Pitman flicks it on for Bennett who gets closed down and now Bennet't's limping, hopefully he's not injured.

 

When we move the ball quickly we look far more dangerous

 

Walsall in posession plays a long ball forward that goes out for a goalkick.

 

Walsall throw taken short, they try to work it forward but Pompey's defence stays strong and gets it clear.

 

Burgess plays it long and gets no where.

 

Pompey with the ball, playing it around again playing for possession.

 

Pompey trying to attack and it's out for another throw. The throw goes to Naismith who gets crowded out and it's out for a Walsall throw.

 

Long balls by both sides, and neither side getting anywhere with it.

 

Pompey in posession again giving it away with a wayward long ball.

 

More long balls and more throws.

 

Walsall on the attack. Gives the ball away with a long ball going out for a goalkick.

 

Bennett attacking gets the ball to Lalkovic who crosses it long and finds no one. Out for a goalkick.

 

That's the end of the first half. Not much to talk about. It's a game of long balls, thrown ins and nothing really happening.
