I know that Connolly was rumoured to be a disruptive individual player but goodness knows why an impact player was allowed to go to a rival club and in his first match scored where he could have remained and be the difference between a win and a loss and winning is what Pompey need right now.
Rumours have a tendency to take on a life of their own. He was probably quite mouthy and opinionated (maybe) but he has the highest level coaching badges so I'd imagine he has plenty of views on coaching styles. If he is that disruptive........... gotta say his leaving certainly didn't lift the spirits of the rest of the players - their performance was dull, compared to last week when he came on and lifted the energy and changed the game.
Who said it was for the good of PFC? Maybe it was for the good of the manager. Barker indicated that Connolly wouldn't feature much in his plans, apparently he couldn't train properly, and as he wanted to play it was best for him to move. I find it strange that Barker couldn't find a way to resolve any differences he might have had (Barker denies they had a problem) with Connolly and keep him as a much needed impact player.
What the hell's going on? This used to be funny, but it's getting ridiculous. We don't want to see you losing to Salisbury next year (much as I love them). I'd be quite happy to see you languishing in Div1 or 2 for a couple of years, but you should be up to Championship level relatively soon (along with Wolves and the Sheffield teams). It's just not right seeing teams with support such as these, "down there" (Could do with the occasional "derby" game as well)
In the spirit of optimism, and since I'm still stuck on the fact of the man's death earlier this week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhnPVP23rzo
