    Half-time

    Pompey 0 Peterborough 0

    45

    One minute stoppage time

    44

Outstanding pass from Burgess to Mnoga marauding down the right but his first-time cross is cleared.

    42

Cooper almost breaks into the box with a lovely first-time touch but MacGillivray gathers.

    41

Pompey free-kick just off to the right of the centre circle. Mnoga's ball forward is easily dealt with.

    37

Tomlin 25 yarder held by MacGillivray

    36

Great tip on to the bar from MacGillivray after Ward's cross and Wheeler reacts excellently to deny the visitors a tap-in follow-up

    34

Haunstrup tries his luck from 25 yards and his low effort is not too far past the far post.

    32

Cooper first-time shot in the box is deflected and cleared. Looked like a potentially decent opening for the visitors

    27

Ward loses the ball to Close who tees up May, but his 25 yarder is past the upright.

    25

Lovely drive from Lowe on the apex of the box deflects off Tafazolli's head for a corner

    22

Lovely ball in from Burgess frees Wheeler but he takes a little too much sting out of the ball which holds him up and O'Malley smothers his finish

    21

Still goalless here but a relative steady start from this Pompey side which is a mix of Academy players, young and experienced pros.

    17

Naismith angles a cross in from the right but Toney doesn't connect with an acrobatic effort

    14

Drive forward from Lowe and Wheeler wins a corner but the delivery is cleared and Evans overhits the follow up

    13

May angles a volley from 25 yards but it's off target and hits Smith's heels

    12

Evans hits a true drive not too far over the top

    11

Attacking free-kick for Pompey 20 yards out to the left of the box.

    07

Peach of a diagonal pass from May to Wheeler, but he can't take the ball in his stride and his cross is gathered bu O'Malley.

    06

Sharp tackle from Casey on Toney. That will give the youngster a boost in confidence against a quality striker

    04

Dangerous ball in from Haunstrup put behind for a corner by Bennett, which is cleared.

    02

Pompey playing Dan Smith up front in a 4-2-3-1. Lowe, Wheeler and Evans behind him

    01

Peterborough playing much the stronger side tonight

    85

David Wheeler steers in Gareth Evans' corner first time to give Pompey the lead!

    85

    GOAL!!!! David Wheeler!!!!

    81

A full-length stop from MacGillivray to deny Cooper, then Toney's effort is blocked and a second block from Burgess on the line somehow denies the visitors.

    81

O'Malley gets to Haunstrup's ball over the top before Dennis.

    77

Toney well off target from 25 yards

    68

    66

    64

O'Malley watches Evans' low 30 yarder around the post.

    63

Ward miles over from 25 yards for the visitors.

    57

Close takes a touch too many in the box and his shot is blocked

    56

Now Toney avoids a yellow after a lunge on Burgess after the ball has gone.

    54

Tomlin gets away with no yellow after kicking out at Burgess after the ball had gone

    51

Great chance for Pompey as Haunstrup puts a ball in. Smith miscontrols but it goes through to Wheeler who blazes over from 10 yards

    50

Smith chases a ball through the channel but O'Malley leaves his box and clears.

    47

    Attendance: 3,313. (121 away fans).

    46

Peterborough restart the game. No changes. Pompey attacking the Fratton End

DON'T GO TO WEMBLEY! Don't let that twat Harvey say that this competition is a success because of a high attendance in the final. As it says in my signature PORTSMOUTH ARE NOT JUST TRAINING OPPOSITION FOR ANY PREMIER LEAGUE SIDE'S KIDS, by attending the final or any other game in this competition, you are implying that they are, and it is okay to see Portsmouth as nothing more than that... well it's not! and it never will be! And I will never attend any EFL Trophy game at Wembley or any other stadium until academies are out of this competition for good!
