Thanks for all the info Woops. Sounds like a good run out for 'the 2nd Eleven' and the winning habit maintained.
Just a few interesting stats: No side has won this competition two seasons running. Bristol City came closest, winning in 1986 and losing on penalties in the 1987 final. If Pompey win it this season then it will be a FIRST! It has however been won twice in a row by the same manager. Lou Macari won it with Birmingham in 1991 and with Stoke in 1992. A Pompey win would mean that Kenny Jackett would be the first Manager to win it three times, having previously won with Swansea in 2006. Last season's Final attendance of 85,021 was a record for the competition, beating the 80,841 who watched Wolves beat Burnley 2-0 in 1988. The first final - and the only one not to have been played at Wembley/Millennium Stadium - was watched by 6,544 at Boothferry Park, when Hull City, although playing 'at home' lost 2-1 to Harry Redknapp's Bournemouth. The lowest attendance in a final since than was in 2002, when a meagre 20,287 turned up at The Millennium Stadium to see Blackpool thump Cambridge Utd 4-1.
