Would love another non'league side,in Round 3, and can we have West Ham or Tottenham after that? Or even Manchester City?
Jackett out! Six goals is rubbish against a non-league team!!! Only joking but some Pompey fans still want him gone. I would say lets see what unfolds this season. He must be Pompey's longest serving manager since George Smith!!!!! Actually it is Jim Smith who managed 199 games. Those who survived longer were Alan Ball,, George Smith, Jack Tinn, Eddie Lever. So he is becoming a legend is Kenny Jackett and he will be if we gain promotion, and retain our trophy in the delayed final.
There's a section of Portsmouth fans who are frankly embarrassing. There's no reason why Jackett would be sacked, there have been times when I've lost faith, and if the Eisner's do sack him at some point, at least he's been given a fair crack at the whip, but regardless he has been successful more often than not and has kept Portsmouth competitive. I fervently do not believe that the intention is to stay in League One though despite what some conspiracy theorists might think.
The world abounds with conspiracy theorists. We need to have a side that is capable of competing for at least the play-offs in the Championship if and when promotion is gained from League 1. Anything else is dangerous. Aiming for a mid-table finish could well lead to relegation. If we look at last season's promoted teams, all of them are struggling so it would be tough but as we have seen with our beautful friends it is doable.
A great result. Some key players given a rest and - as far as I know - no injuries. What more could we get from the fixture? Onward to Blackpool!! PUP
