Hope he recovers well and concentrates on getting really fit over the summer. I think there are many sports people who get injured far too easily. Noah Lyles suggests that they need to invest time and energy in order to keep performing to such a high standard. Look at Grealish - he likes a beer and is often out injured or sitting on the bench as he is not at maximum fitness!
As mentioned before, I had hoped the last two fixtures could be used to give some younger and fringe players a run but, given the relevance of the Hull fixture to the final bottom three places, playing a strong side was the responsible thing to do. The fact that Blair was selected and Saydee came on for Lang could be taken as an indication that they will be retained next season. Blair, Kamara, Saydee and Tyler are all young players that have had insufficient game time and Matthews, Waddington and perhaps Farrel can be added to that list next season unless there is either culling or an under 23 team. When Kamara came on as a sub early in the season he immediately adapted to the pace of the Championship. He did appear to be something of a liability with his inclinations to be a little over aggressive and to be too fond of dribbling out of defense but these weaknesses could hopefully be remedied in a 19 year old. from Pompey's perspective. I would like to see him retained but from his own point of view perhaps he should leave. Tyler had several games in which he did nothing wrong but is clearly well down the pecking order. At this stage I would not rate Matthews above him but given that Mousinho signed Matthews it seems he will remain ahead of Tyler. It may therefore be better for Tyler's career if he leaves.
Nail on the head! An under 23 side is essential so the squad players can keep.match fit. Playing on loan at Bognor or Havant is really not an option given the disparaties between the levels.
