Given that the length of a manager's tenure is usually less than 3 years, is Kenny Jackett on borrowed time?
As I said earlier - Doncaster are a bit of a bogey team for us so I would have taken a draw at 3pm - one point dropped if you take that attitude. We now have Gillingham away on Tuesday and Sunderland away next weekend. I wonder what we'll get out of these games.......
As ever, thanks for the commentary Woops. I watched the game replayed on ifollow later. We can only hope for improvement. I am reluctant to be critical but Pompey have under impressed for the last two games. Most of there better periods of play seemed to be when Close became involved. The trouble is he does not get involved enough although he was perhaps an improvement on Morris. Jacobs has been bought in as an attacking mid field but he has not been played in that role (except briefly after substitutions). As a winger he is not as good as Williams. We should give Jacobs starts in the no 10 position although I do worry if he and Close play together in the mid field there will be insufficient 'bite' in that department with Naylor the sole ball winner. However I think it is worth a try. Until we can sustain periods of controlled mid field possession I think we will struggle. Curtis appears out of form and Harness and Williams should be the starting wide players. Harrison's effort in the last two games has been impressive and he will be missed if his injury is serious. All that said I seem to change my mind on the best team to select every week so I cannot be too critical of KJ's fluctuations!
