Perhaps Hawkins would be better there than Burgess

I agree Ides, Louis Dennis was superb against QPR in the FA Cup, and to my mind should have been ahead of even Adam May as a substitute. Would have been a different type of player to choose from.

Was Walkes injured? Pitman? Or doesn't Keeny get along with these two?

No idea, Ides :emoticon-0138-think Don't forget, we now have a decent size squad, so can only choose 7 of them for the subs bench.

Well the wheels appear to have fallen off at the moment and team selection seems to be getting much of the blame.

I feel a little sorry for Burgess who has generally been good for us I believe and may be important if Jack's injury is serious. We all make the odd mistake and playing at the back it tends to be the last mistake.

The treatment of Dennis is a concern. From my reading of match reports he has done well in the limited opportunities he has had and had a hand in the goals in those games. He has made his case for selection to such extent that a player can at a club without a reserve team. There is a chance he could be the No 10 Pompey have been looking for but just when that appeared to be finally recognised the loan players have come in. From what I have read he may also be able to play on the wing and be a worthy occasional selection in place of Lowe or Curtis when they are injured or suspended (both seem to pick up a lot of bookings).

In part that maybe the urgency of our position where 'experience now' is called for rather than have players feeling their way into the side over several games. However, in reality it may take the loan players also need several games to settle.

Despite the above some of the loan signings appear to be good. Correct me if I am wrong Woops but I think I read Bogle and Vincent will be out of contract in the summer so they are potentially longer term solutions if they prove themselves. Certainly Bogle appears to be off to a good start.

I believe that both Omar Bogle and James Vaughan are out of contract with their existing clubs at the end of this season, so if they continue to impress and play well, then they will be available for us to sign on free transfers, pdu.

I think the scenario is the same for both the on loan wingers Viv Solomon-Otabor and Lloyd Isgrove.
