Looking at those stats I can't believe you didn't win it. Never mind, 45 games to go and you'll be back in the Championship. Hope you have a fun and productive season
Sounds as if the first half was a tetchy affair, whereas in the second a game of football broke out. Delighted that the goal was scored by Yengi. After that, I reckon the club have kept the fans onside. I noticed tha sttendance. A good oñe for the opening day!
Hi clingo! Rovers played their part, but I agree we could/should have won the game based on the sheer number of chances created. Good luck at Leeds tomorrow - hope you win!!
If you'd said 1-1 before kick off I'd have been disappointed, but in the end, with the equalizer coming so late, it's more of a relief!
So I'm still on my way back after a stressful and fought weekend for many reasons, mostly involving public transport. The first half the match was okay, we weren't great and Bristol took the lead through a dangerous counter attack. They seemed to have more possession than us but the second half we were better. The first 15 or 20 minutes we were really going for it and the atmosphere was great. The equaliser was, as Devon suggests, more of a relief than anything but I like the fact that we went for a winner even after we scored and I could have pictured it coming had we had a bit more time. Would have been delicious to score two goals in stoppage time to cause Joey Barton's side to lose but alas it wasn't to be. But anyway, I liked number 15, he seemed pretty dangerous. From what I can gather that was Saydee. On another point, our seats were depending on the angle of the rain, one of the few uncovered parts of Fratton Park. We were in the corner of the North Stand and Fratton End and when it rained, we got soaked. Several times we had to move to the back of the North Stand lower and stand along the aisle that runs along the back. Luckily the stewards didn't mind so long as we stood back. Not too pleasant weather though. Though I have to admit when it's pouring down, you can see the dark skies and the floodlights on with players sliding and making crunching tackles, there's a certain charm about it. Though I'm glad it didn't last long at any time as there's always the risk of an abandonment... So anyway, a draw isn't a fantastic result but with a lot of new players and the poor conditions, I'm willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt for now. Also Bristol Rovers, more like Bristol Time wasters Crazy scenes at Fratton station though. Because of the train strikes the trains were very irregular so by the time the Bristol rovers fans got onto the platform, there were still a lot of Portsmouth fans on the platform so the two groups started chanting at each other and giving it large and gesticulating and so on. Some numpties took it too far and started throwing beer cans across the tracks. But this went on for quite a while until a couple of trains arrived and most of the Portsmouth fans left the platform.
