FYI - Not sure who made the application, whether it was Chanrai or Lampitt - but this is an application, to be heard on Friday. If it was Chan the man then he will appoint Andrinouka again.

I can't help wondering if it wouldn't be better for the courts to appoint the administrator rather than the man who introduced Antonov and was entertaining the Man from Atlantis as a credible buyer. I also have it on good authority that at least 1 consortium did not even get a reply from AA.

We have been told that the players weren't sold for reasons attached to the WUP - all the clubs who showed any interest were advised that they couldn't make derisory offers for the players so the only offers which came in were for Pearce, Henderson and Ward. They had to be sold at market value and no doubt the funds were required up front.

No doubt though, we are in for a very bumpy ride - and some of you can gloat until you're sick.

    ^^^This.

It will be interesting to see if they are actually allowed to go into admin or not - as they are the subject of the WUP will the court allow this? As for points deductions, they'll lose the 10 points for admin, will they lose more points for other financial irregularities or for being in admin yeat again within 2 years (regardless of whether or not they were in the PL last time)?

Said this in the page before

    Heard Lampit say:

Debts will basically stay the same, just decreasing alittle.

10 mil CSI 17 mil BC (plus running costs etc)

UHY will be admin again(directors could have choosen a different one, but decided not to.)

Players can give 14days notice to leave but none have atm.

So ello admin andy again nice little packet your getting.

Pompeys hearing to go into admin will be on friday. They have to have a judge decide if they can enter it, as they are already under a cva.

Edit* HMRC can choose to appeal against pompey going into admin.

Lampit said that pompey can't even afford their elecy bill and could have it cut off if they didn't go into admin.

The tax bill is for unpaid VAT for January and December, a long time after the signings of Huskelep and Varney. The situation then was hardly the same as now.

Nice to see redandwhitecomrade is sticking to character spouting hatred.

That's where I differ from you. I love my team and nothing else matters. I don't hate any other team, because their mere existence is to give Saints a club to play. However, I do have a degree of empathy [look it up], and would hate to have the situation inflicted on another club, and their supporters, that Saints and us fans so recently experienced.

To put it bluntly, I don't dream ill on my fellow man [or woman]. I try only to wish people well or if a can't manage that, then nothing at all.

There will always be a minority in any group who cannot help themselves, you cannot deny that some of the Blue Few have been out of order, but two wrongs don't make a right, pound of flesh, ashes to ashes, what's good for the goose, and all that.

This is irrelevant. If that 2.25million had not been spent in the summer they would have had more chance of being able to pay the VAT bill in Dec and Jan. After all, this isn't the first time that Pompey have not paid their tax.

Well worded Secondstain. Some of the goading just isn't funny. I do think it is atrocious that they have gone/are going into administration again so soon, however that is the fault of the club owners/footballing authorities and not the pompey fans.

I will never ever forget how close we were to not having a club. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Odd that no one here has mentioned the straightened financial situation within the current climate as a factor of PFC's demise. I think the credit crunch probably contributed a lot to Gaydamak's and CSI's problems. In the latter instance, I am not convinced that the latest regime has mismanged PFC - as I said on another thread lampitt know esxcatly what he is doing as is a shrewd operator as his identification of Appleton demonstrates.

However, this does seem serious for Portsmouth. The current team is superior to those lingering in the current relegation zone and I can't see Portsmouth slipping in to the third tier for footballing reasons. For me, the parlous money situation is probably as grave as it has ever been at Fratton park.

It's not irrelevant. Portsmouth had no idea that they were going to go bankrupt in the summer. You can't decide not to buy a player in the summer so you can pay a VAT bill in January which no-one in July knew was going to occur. They're both totally separate.

    I am torn between this.

Four years ago I was a 14 year old having to out up with teenage yobs at my local school giving it all that about Saints league position and financial status. I put up with it and ignored it through gritted teeth.

Pompey are now in a extremely unstable position and if their administration is appealed by HMRC then it does look to be the end of PFC.

Theoretically they should have gone ages ago. They bent the rules in their favour and the PL and FL supported them in this.

They do deserve everything they get if that were to happen.

    But...

I really feel bad for the fans.
I don't mean the teenage yobs that refer to us as scummers and only try to stir up football violence;...

I mean the proper fans. The ones that travel up and down the country every week supporting their local team.

They've been messed about for too long, and have suffered. They can go on as much as they like about being the 'greatest supporters ever' but there is now very few people....

I'm a bit torn on this. As a Saints fan I want us to do better than Pompey, but feel uneasy 'rejoicing' this news. I agree that if you don't pay your tax bill, we all get affected, BUT this time it is not the fault of the club, they were living quite frugally and not splashing out. It is unfortunate what has happened to CSI, and the knock on effect is Pompey may go out of business.

We can't be happy about this, as I always think "there but for the grace of god go I". Who knows, the Liebherrs pull out, Nicola can't find a buyer and we may be staring down the barrel.

It may be Karma for before (which really did take the piss), but I can't help but feel for the Pompey fans, as I know how gutted I was when we almost went under. They are as passionate about Pompey (misguided I know:smile:) as we are about Saints but this is not about football rivalry anymore.

Before we gloat, just realise that it doesn't take much to happen in the world for circumstances to change (Banking collapse anyone?...)

    Slate away, just my view.....

I say good luck to the true fans, and I hope you are (almost!) as lucky as we got...

There has been a rumour going around tonight saying that because of today's shenanigans regarding Rangers and Pompey, a senior senior senior judge is considering the rules regarding football clubs and tax.

And if Rangers challenge HMRC then HMRC will go down on them all guns blazing!

I feel more sorry for the admin staff at Portsmouth: the guys in the ticket office, the waitresses in the Victory Lounge, the stewards, the physios, the marketing team, the electricians, the painters, the club photographer, the cleaning staff, the bar staff, etc

As fans, we would of course be upset if Portsmouth were liquidated. They would potentially be losing their livelihood.

Taxman should get first dibs. Always.

I could help the waitresses if they're feeling lonely.
