What is it they say..? No player is bigger than a club. Well it looks as if that might be wrong in this case, because it wouldn't surprise me if Tai Ben Haim and/or Nwankwo Kanu [to give him his proper title as he deserves it], could be too big for Portsmouth FC to recover from. 3 days to go.

Can totally understand why people are fed up with them but if your boss came to you and said he wouldn't honour your contact but please leave so the firm can carry on. What would you say!

I'm sorry, but Birch has seemingly acted in a totally unprofessional manner during this debacle and has probably made things a whole lot worse. I actually have some degree of sympathy for Ben Haim, certainly more so than that cock Chanrai.

Ben Haim is currently playing a game of chicken with Chainrai. Ben Haim knows that if the club goes under, he gets nowt, but Chainrai also takes a big hit. I think this'll all be sorted out 5 minutes before the deadline (of course using the term 'sorted out' in the loosest possible sense)

Having read the response from TBH I think that I can empathise with the Fratton faithful. When we were nearing the precipice we moaned about the lack of information coming from the administrators. In Pompey's case it seems to be the opposite as they always appear to be in the news. It has to hurt their prospects of finding a buyer when Birch keeps chuntering on about the almost certainly inevitable demise of the club.

They don't call him King Kanu for nothing.

Him and TBH should stick to their guns, they're owed money and have already lost millions thanks to PFC. No one in their right mind would or should waive their rights to that money.

Especially because Chainrai is determined to be the only person who doesn't lose out...

Even if sticking to their guns means the club is liquidated? (I don't know if it will, it could be Birch scaremongering but hypothetically if it was to lead to that)

Well I should check my facts. Kanu has actually gone. Liam Lawrence and Tai Ben Haim are the only ones left.

    These have gone:

    Greg Halford (Nottingham Forest)
    Erik Huseklepp (Brann)
    Dave Kitson (Free agent)
    David Norris (Leeds United)
    Kanu (Free agent)
    Luke Varney (Leeds United)
    Aaron Mokoena (Bidvest Wits)
    Hayden Mullins (Birmingham)

players have to be selfish in football. they have a limited amout of time to earn their money and they have signed a contract that the club now says it cant fulfill the terms of. its not good enough. i'd demand all the money too, as theyre football creditors theyll get their money first when pompey are liquidated.

But surely no player is bigger than the club they play for, whether that club is Southampton, Portsmouth, Man U or Eastleigh? By putting the player's individual finance over the very existence of a particular club (any club, not just Portsmouth), it is implying that the players are in fact inherently bigger than the clubs they play for.

I'm not sure the football creditor rule applies in a liquidation. Plus in a liquidation there is going to be **** all left anyway.

    Feel sorry for the fans.

The owners that handed out the monstrous wages to these players, that they knew full well they would struggle to pay, should be hung, drawn and quartered.

Still, who the **** is laughing now?

    It's such an overrated song.

Not that Peter Kay actually sang it, but in terms of songs with Peter Kay featuring in the video, this is the best:

    Morally they do

    You mean you wouldn't?
