Whatever team is in 21st would have to win on that day for it to work (so they are 16 points off at FT)
Now I don't like starting rumours......Nor do I quite understand the implications if true. A Pompey mate of mine swears he saw Cortese down at Fratton park..........He also says that he was in the Devere in town and saw Cortese come out of one of the meeting rooms with suits. He also said one of the guys coming out looked like Pompey's present administrator. Personally I don't think he would recognise Cortese if had sat beside him for a couple of years! However he got quite cross with me when I accused him of this (He has seen him quite a few times as it happens) So I genuinely think he is convinced it was Cortese and co. So guys and gals what the heck is going on? Not an amalgamation surely.....this was banded about some years ago. Are we going down this road again?
Not that we know of Fran....but my mate surely would have recognised one of his own players I would have thought.
Oh no not Porthampton or Southmouth all over again. That newspaper publisher tried to get Oxford and Reading to merge years ago to form Thames Valley Royals. He nearly got lynched. We could of course buy Portsmouth and they could then be known as Southampton reserves. A new shared ground built between the cities could be a goer especially if lighting effects were used to change the colour on match days. I would want to be very careful about where I sat though as I would not want to sit anywhere near where the prat with the bell might have sat given his propensity to urinate everywhere.
A player is always available. Also Godders, if you ever met John W, away from football and beer, you honestly would be amazed. He is a noted expert, in the field of antique books. Here he is, in his Petersfield shop. please log in to view this image
If I'm honest, me too. Ties should be simple in design. He's got the entire range of pre-decimal coinage on his swarthy knuckles too, by the looks of it. He's not sixpence short of a shilling.
After he was thrown out of Gillingham FC's Priestfield Stadium in September 2002, one Portsmouth fans website criticised Westwood, describing him as being a "drunk yob"
IIRC, there was a documentary about him and fanatics. He certainly is that, in his other life but, if I also remember correctly, he came across as an ordinary, reasonable person, away from his football fan persona. This, bearing in mind is a bloke who piddled over some of St Marys seats, which kind of leads one to have a negative opinion, all told.
