the drum didn't annoy me much it was the bell that drove me nuts well except last season i dint care as i was to busy trying not to fall over the barrier when fryatt scored haha got me on tv though
Well its at least 3000 down on last years regular attendances. Its not just message boards fans are talking on, listen to the radio and people sat around me in the east stand all moaning that the football is far too boring and negative with not enough goals. I have said so too on ocassions. Not all people talk ****e and even if they do, boards such as this would not exist without them, plus everybody is entitled to their say. You may feel some may talk tripe whilst others could be in agreeance with those whom you feel talk tripe. Thats what these boards are all about surely, to discuss difference of opinions? I feel I have not quoted nonsense but merely others views on how and why attendance could be dropping. I am sure you will agree though, if we were banging in 5 goals every game, the KC would be full to the rafters? What does that tell you? People want to see positivity, goals and success on the pitch. Boring defeats, 0-0 draws or uninspiring 1-0 victories will not bring the fans back either.
I'd go with that matey !!! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we can break the Duck and score more than once to give our home fans something to cheer about and get bums off seats to applaud more than once.
It tells me that your reasons don't stack up. The callers to local radio usually start with "I didn't go today but..." they said the same in the Prem so they're no gauge. The others seem to be sat next to you at the ground, so they're no gauge either. Of the few that remain, I'd be intrigued to know how they'll decide it's time to go back to watching, when they can't see the game to base a decision on. Perhaps they listen to the radio, read messageboards or the local rag, but we all know that's no way to decide either. Then again, maybe if we looked at the simple facts that home attendances aren't actually that far down, especially not considering all else, the comment "dropping like flies" which I questioned, still looks a tad over dramatic and these people you read wouldn't actually go no matter what. Me, I tend to decide for myself if I'm happy and base it on the full days experience, not just the result or the opinions of someone I don't know.
Decent response DMD but it still does not deflect away from the FACT the home support has dropped by a few thousand which is not exactly small fry. Sorry if you did not like my termenology 'dropping like flies'. I for one base my judgements purely as I see with my own eyes.
I think you also have to say in the premier league away team mostly bring the 3,000 allocated where as portsmouth are only bringing 400/500
This is very true Reece but it still does not explain the large areas of empty seats in most other areas of the ground.
i agree but do people want to pay good money to watch them get beat by Crystal Palace at home with another poor performance and Atmosphere?
It's not a FACT, if you look at the full picture, It's simply a knee jerk opinion based on too small a data set and not considering enough variables.
Ok DMD but once again on here and we will have to beg to differ, I value your opinion but as stated, attendances are down despite what ever the reason may be for it regardless of data or variables how you put it. The crowd is 3k or so less this season than last. I dont even see the point of debate.
As stated, your sums are simply wrong. You don't have enough numbers to make that call yet as you're not comparing like for like.
I aint making any equations or any other mathematics for that matter, all I am simply saying is that the crowds are down on last season... Simples Say what you like but its true and non debatable. Is this a wind up or what??? Jeremy Beadle style !!! Lol
The point DMD is making is that we have only played three games this season, two of which were against London clubs and all three were during the holiday period. If one of those games had been against Leeds and was(as normal) a sell out, then our average for this season would already be 19,500. In short, you can't make any judgement on a seasons average attendances based on just three games.
Now thats a more logical explanation. I suppose based on the opening three games maybe not and I guess we'll just have to wait and see if it picks up or not. First three games in chronological order are as follows... V Blackpool - 18,907 V Palace - 17,797 V Reading - 17,295 See any kind of steady trend emerging? Last season I barely remember a game less than 20k
That's probably because Derby and Millwall were the only two games below 20k, the attendances are definitely down so far this season, but it's just early to make any judgement on and a couple of wins will soon put extra bums on seats, what ever the quality of football(though the better that gets, the more bums there will be).
sorry guys I'm going to Perpignan on saturday for Catalans Dragons vs Hull KR.. so supporting the city in some way..
Call yourself a Tigers Fan !!! How dare you choose the egg chasing game over the Mighty Tigers... Lol
