Yeah and maybe you'll get the opportunity to lose at the Emirates again one day.

Wouldn't bet on it though ;)

I'd rather see my side win at Six Fields, than lose at the Emirates. But if you're more interested in watching your opponents than your own team (and I can't blame you) then enjoy your losses at the Emirates and the eitihad ;)

I don't but I couldn't just ignore your comment :)

Fwiw yesterday was a much better day out than the Etihad.

You can keep that fishy lot away from sixfiekds if you don’t mind... although it would mean you’re back in Leagie 2 :)

Skates looking like they will get at least one day out at Wembley this season...they appear to be trying quite hard for a trophy that they supposedly have no time for, eh Lapras?

"Yes, though it pains me to support Crawley (or whoever we play), I do it because I don't want to see my club take part in a competition which is demeaning and sees a club who are two times champions of England with a 120 year history as nothing more than training opposition to the overly bloated academies of the PL".

Rapid change of attitude now I reckon! Good Luck in the Final, do it for Hampshire! (Said through gritted teeth).

I would find having as many principles as PompeyLapras rather tiring. I want Saints to win trophies however small and, whilst I would rather they did it gloriously, I would also be ok if they won because the other team went down with dengue fever.

It's not a trophy though, as they kept telling us in 2010 ;)

It's nothing to do with the size of the trophy, and I'm happy for us to win any trophy (including the Premier League Asia trophy or whatever we won when we beat Liverpool on penalties back in the day... However, I am dead against the Checktrade Trophy because by including the Premier League academies, it is suggesting the only worth or value of any league 1 or 2 club, clubs with their own history and fan bases and representing different areas across the country, is based on the number of minutes they can give to Premier League academy players. They don't exist as clubs with worth in their own right, but simply as training opposition for these academy players, that's all we are. It is frankly insulting and demeaning. Furthermore, it is suggesting that we, as league 1 and 2 clubs are responsible for solving the problem created by the Premier League by hoovering up young players, i.e. that few of them actually get on the pitch. They made the problem but it is our responsibility to fix it by demeaning ourselves as training opposition for their kids who they aren't playing.

Not to mention every win for a Premier League academy is denying a League 1 or 2 club a chance for a day at Wembley in a competition that was originally designed for that very purpose!

While Premier League academies are in this competition, I shall never attend a match whether it's at Fratton Park, Wembley or San freakin' Siro (not that I can imagine a situation where a Checkatrade Trophy game is played in San Siro but you catch my drift).

How about: we'll stop playing in the EFL Trophy when you stop making us play in the EFL Cup.

Just a quick question lapras, are you against lower league teams taking prem players on loan? This also gives players not playing a chance.

May be way off the mark here but didn't league 1 and 2 teams vote on whether academy teams should be allowed to enter or not?

Doesn't mean the fans have to be happy with it. I'm completely with PL on this, it's a farce.
