100% with you on this. Jeez what a f*cking useless bag of bollocks he was. I used to get so angry when I heard his name on the team-sheet.
And that goal against City. One to rival the legendary status of Cuco Martina’s goal against Arsenal.
Before the Championship season I had a bet that Saints would win the league and Lambert would be top scorer. Roll on to the 3rd (?) to last game and we are playing top of the league Reading at home. Win and we would overtake them and go top, lose and we would be battling it out with West Ham for 2nd. Lambert was already miles clear as top scorer Cue Danny Fox being an absolute **** house and singlehandedly ****ing us over for two goals and we lose 3-1. Costing us top spot and me a 5 figure pay out. PS he wasn’t good in the Championship, he was good at corners and the rest of the team carried him.
David McGoldrick would be on that list for me. I swear in one match l watched; the most enthusiastic moment l saw from him was when he was substituted in the second half - it was the quickest he moved all afternoon to get to the touchline!
If anything it would make more sense to have Ali Dia in a list of favourite Saints players - the man is a cult hero! For me, most hated has to be Lovren. Lallana leaving hurt the most but I think he gets an unfair treatment from most Saints fans.
Mario Lemina just pips Kenwyne Jones for me. Jones basically downed tools to push through his transfer. Lemina just didn`t try, which for a professional footballer is shameful.
...... he had a lovely arse though, as I discovered (in a manly kind of way, you understand), as he was being carried overhead towards the tunnel after the Coventry promotion game.
