would say, this is worse than diving. Diving could be fairly easy to spot, however shirt pulling in set pieces isn't.

Virtually all defenders do shirt pulling, grappling etc. and mostly it's a free kick if spotted. Against Sunderland the grappling went miles beyond holding, on one occasion both Terry and Cahill were literally rugby tackled to the ground on the same play. For me, that was a cast iron penalty and the ref was extremely poor in not seeing it .Even in Rugby, tackling someone without the ball is a penalty, but we had 2 tackled at the same time nowhere near the ball. Hope someone"up there" saw this and issues refs an instruction to cut it out.

The same thing happened against United. I think you need to watch the full incidents to understand why it happens to these two players when your biggest threat from corners (Ivan) seems to go un-molested.

The incident you talk about was at united so no referee was going to cross the Ferguson line and award a penalty, i mean just how many pens have been awarded at the theatre of screams?

No he doesn;t - he credits O'Shea but does not say whether he thought the decision was right or wrong - in fact he makes no opinion on it at all.

Kicking out towards an opponent with both feet is a red card all day long. Kicking out with both feet when the ball is in play - and playing the ball - is a red card - why is this not as bad as that?

I would love to see what you Chelsea lot (and Graham Poll etc) would say if Lee Cattermole had done this to any of your players and walked away with nothing. You'd all be livid and screaming that he should've been sent off - very blue tinted those specs:

A 2 footed tackle when the ball is in blay that MISSES a player is a red card - wo how is this not? Both feet aimed intentionally directly at a players chest and head!
