Would it? Ronaldo is greedy. He played with class players at Man United, and again at Madrid. Not like he took Fulham to Champions League glory.

Ronaldo had an amazing season with Carrick & Fletcher behind him when Barcelona have probably the best player in the world Xavi and Iniesta playing behind Messi. Also Messi has never scored in England and the argument is which would you rather have in your team, i'm not saying Ronaldo's better but he's better suited to the Premier League and is used to the tempo of the game so it's a simple one. Ronaldo

    Right..****.

"couldn't see Messi on a wet monday night away at Stoke performing as good." - Is a silly comment as it rains in Spain and he gets the **** kicked out of him all the time anyway, playing against Stoke wouldn't exactly be too different physically.

I don't see how you can be having this argument Messi is clearly better. Ronaldo would not succeed with lots of brilliant players him as others have said, he's more concerned about his play rather than the play of the team unlike Messi. Just compare their play in the recent game. Ronaldo scored a goal when the ball was kicked onto him and Messi did a brilliant assist and two well taken goals.

But he also had Scholes who many players call one of the best they played with, Giggs who is still a talent and Rooney who was playing really well wide on the left at that time.

Where was the Champions League final last season btw? ;) And who scored in it? ;) And was it against an English team? :)

Forgot about that goal. But one goal playing in England which show's he wouldn't be as effective in England playing for Newcastle.

Big difference between playing with great players and being developed from the age of 11 to slot in around a specific group of them. Thats what Barca have done hence the almost psychic connection with Messi, Xavi & Iniesta.

But, he didn't spend lots of seasons playing in England? He's scored against English teams a fair bit as well now.

It was more to do with the temperature than puddles....look at Robinho. Also he get's destroyed physically against Spanish teams which don't compare to the likes of Stoke, they'd destroy him.

Yes, he did develop with them. Its well documented that Messi was training with the first team at around the age of 14/15, hes been playing with alot of this current crop for 7-8 years.

Xavi is 31, Iniesta 27, Messi 24. It's not like they came through the youth team together. He wouldn't have played with them at 11. He joined Barca at 13 for one, and he would have been too young at that point. He made his debut at 16, probably started training with the first team at 16 or 17.

Haha. Let's ignore the fact that Barca are weak on their travels, let's ignore the fact he was Barcelona's best player at the Emirates last season and lets ignore his many goals against English opposition in the Nou Camp and CL finals.

That's rubbish. Stoke are no worse than some of the brutes playing in Spain. Stoke are tough but in Spain it is literally kicking.

He's been quality against Madrid and their kick the **** out of Messi and Barcelona tactics for one and comes out best against the majority of other teams, I am certain he could handle Stoke.

Kind of weird how people think Huth and Shawcross would intimidate Messi even though he's taken the piss out of defenders like Vidic, Ferdinand, Vermaelen, Clichy, Carvalho, Pepe, Ramos etc

Messi. No question. They are both match winners, obviously, but Messi seems more of a team player and is more guaranteed to give 100% whatever the situation.
