That doesn't make him inept though.

Anyway, I voted for Yes. Keegan 2nd time around wasn't Keegan first time around by a long stretch and this team has more promise and passion in it to me than under any regime since Bobby left.

We had some class defenders but Keegan's ATTAAAAAAAAAACK!!!! mentality meant that we were prone to counters from better teams. So often would Albert etc get forward that we'd end up scoring ****loads but letting in almost as many <laugh>. Made for exciting games though, I was just a young lad and Keegan was really still a young lad at heart himself. Great fun to watch!

I'll judge him properly at the end of the season. Remember when we were 5th at this time around Hughton?

Pardew has been doing a good job, not just tactically but in other areas. He's managed to maintain a strong team spirit despite the sacking of a popular manager and losing some big personalities. Together with Graham Carr he has found some real bargains in the transfer market instead of just going for the kind of marquee signings that were the norm under Shephard. He's also done brilliantly in a PR sense and seems to say all the right things, as do his squad.

Out of the other managers, I liked Roeder but he was only really a one season wonder, Shearer was only in for 8 games and had zero experience, Hughton did well but wasn't as tactically astute as Pardew is, and the less said about Souness, Allardyce and Kinnear the better. That just leaves Keegan. I actually beleive that if he didn't fall out with the board he could've turned us into a force to be reckoned with. Some of the football we played near the end of the 07/08 season was mesmerising. Unfortunately it wasn't to be.

This, however I will say that people calling Roeder a one season wonder is a little harsh. The amount of injuries we had that season was unbelievable.

I think Pardew never expected to land a job like this one after his career stumbled and by all accounts from the players etc he seems to be putting his everything into it. That's all anyone can really ask for.

    He's been fantastic.

Watching us pick up the pace at the end of the match yesterday... I didn't know what to do with myself!!!

I haven't seen us play like that, bar re-runs of old matches. He said we were not hitting top form yet and I wonder if the late antics are a taster of what he want's to unleash.

    I nearly shed a tear.

What a match. What a team. What manager. What a club.

Thank you to everyone at NUFC for making my hangover-Sunday that much fun!

I thought before the match that we would be lucky to scrape a point. As it turns out the game could have been anyones! Excellent from both teams.

Feel so bad for Stevie T, you could see the devastation in his face. Tiote looked like he was about to exploded after that other challenge haha, he really is trying to tidy it up! Goes to prove my point that he's not being deliberately filthy, it's just his style of play.

No mention of Souness. Souness is hated by both Newcastle and Liverpool fans to the core for causing the demise of both clubs' best era...
