Just one thing to clarify. I am assuming in the figures above that the candidates can vote as they can in their constituency votes for normal elections.

If not then I am unsure if candidates that are knocked out can then vote.

So my assumption is that they can vote for themselves (not that it matters in the first round anyway.)

I did watch it. I was a little disappointed with the fact the BBC chose to first visit two council estates and a woman with a flooded flat/disabilities to represent leavers and then meet remainders at a pub with Porsches and flash cars parked outside. A little leading.

I did understand/empathise with some of the points made though .

Yes, it was massively biased and at 27 minutes only a bitesize chunk. They noticeably juxtaposed people.

I just felt appalled by that comment about 'natural people', more than anything.

Unfortunately, the BBC are massive lefties to appeal to the 'younger' more easily influenced audience. It is very hard to find a balanced view from any news network as they all like to appear as progressive socialists and portray those that aren't else as nasty, racist biggots.

I felt that most of the interviewed people mistook Conservative Govt policy for EU issues, but I was glad I watched the programme because it gave me a better understanding of their lives. And although immigration appeared to be at the top of the pile of reasons it really seemed about austerity and a general dissatisfaction. The Leave vote consisted of people who were mainly dissatisfied with their lives, yet no doubt, come a General Election, they'll help return a Conservative Government. They feel disenfranchised, yet you can bet they didn't vote for the AV form of Proportional Representation, which although not ideal, would have been far better than the present system which can barely get near representing 40% of the population. That's where the country needs a real change.

A couple of tidbits I read from a Tory chat site. About Farage leaving and what the future holds for UKIP and Tory worries about UKIP:

Still getting his nice MEP pension when he retires.
He always said he had one aim. That's now been achieved regardless of his
members wanting the sainted Nigel to stay forever..he was UKIP.
Woolfe, Nuttal etc are quite different from him, they're all quiet Northern Leftist
men, not with the cross country/cross party appeal of the Iconic/sarc Nige.
That party was almost a cult with him at the helm.
Maybe they'll not exist without their cause or Nigel or will rebrand themselves
as a Northern working class new, new Labour type party.
Expect Douglas Carswell to get the boot tonight.. he is already smoozing
around the Conservatives.



And the second which is a reposte to the first but also disects the candidates for UKIP:

Nuttall quiet and leftist? You don't now much about him do you? Have you ever met a quiet scouser? I haven't Nuttall is the localist amongst UKIP's leading lights. He's the one who wants to restructure the country into a more federal (devolved) structure. In many ways he isa radical like Gove. Woolfe maybe quieter but he has done all the work on Immigration and knows exactly how it will work. I'd rather have Woolfe in charge of Immingration than the Nasty Party's Toxic Theresa. Of course you have forgetten Diane James who also must be a candidate if she's back who will offer a southern more right of centre perspective (especially Criminal Justice). In fact on the face of it James would probably have far more cross country cross party appeal than either May or Leadsom let alone the male Tories.

Thankfully the threat of UKIP being hijacked by reject Tories has receded. Evans is suspended and cannnot stand and Carswell as you say could be on his bike tonight.

ABC (Anyone but Carswell)

So from what these are saying Carswell is on his way out and they assess UKIPs main people as very different idealogically from Leftists, to federalists, to right wing but the interesting thing is that they rate Stephen Woolfe very highly.

Stephen Woolfe is the UKIP chap that like Chuka Umunna always has to fit "son of immigrants" in somewhere. Unlike Chuka he does know his subject and sails through most interviews easily.

The BBC are these days solely aimed at the (newly created) lower middle class upward. All their programs are aimed at people that have a little bit of money or are in a position where they might be able to get there. Getting holiday homes, buying and selling homes, Homes under the hammer, Food programs that normal folks can't afford and normal supermarkets rarely stock the stuff etc. Same as CH4.

I do watch a lot of BBC but normally only BBC4 because I like educational programs. I like to learn things from history, music all sorts. BBC1 tends to be solely aimed at those that are already or are close to being well away from struggling in life and programs about life at the bottom are very obviously made from an opinion of people that have never really experienced being down there.

They love regional accents in a patronising way that just seems to suggest they think "Look, its not just posh people that have made it."

I do like Have I got news for you though and some comedies. If they gave Henning Wehn his own show I would watch that.

I think you make a very good point about the BBC. The problem is, their treatment of anyone, be it a politician or member of public who doesn't have 'progressive' socialist views. It's such a powerful means of influence, that it actively encourages people to have 'progressive' socialist views because it's apparently morally right and if you don't you are regarded as the ignorant evil.

The BBC are very in tune with the Labour PLP (not labour) very close to Blairism without the Thatcher idiolisation that Blairites have. They are somewhere inbetween the Lib Dems and Blairism and whilst I don't doubt that they think they are unbiased they tend to think that this is the norm and use it as their centre balance.

Anything to the right of that gets the "right wing" scorn and anything to the left of that is seen as Wolfy Smith or the 3 day week.

It's Islington and Notting Hill baby. That is the new normal.

VW Polo

None as they are all rubbish. Same with these guys. Total garbage. The country would be better off recruiting its next PM from a Conservative Party in Europe. Mariano Rajoy is heads and shoulders above these potential Tory leaders and would ensure the UK gets a good deal. He might even reject the idea of Brexit!! Let's go and get him.

I used to have a Fiesta. 1.4 zetec. had it 5 years. very reliable in that time. passed its MOT with flying colours every time and never let me down. Great car. Probably wouldn't have bought my C-max had I not had a Ford before. So I'll vote for the Fiesta.

I assumed you were joking when you first mentioned this but you keep bringing it up.

Bringing in a foreign head of government is perhaps the most insane idea I've ever heard, aside from the question of why he would want to leave his current position in Spain to come here?
