So its Corbyn vs Eagle then is it? They said they would limit it to 1 opposing Corbyn to give that 1 person the best chance. Labour are doomed.
Am I out of the loop? I know people are complaining about his prominence in the referendum (I feel unfairly so) but apart from being too left and too stubborn, why is he being forced out? He has strong support from members, Unions, and constituency chairs still, so it's seemingly only seemingly MPs that hold issue with him. Aren't they just in the wrong party, as oppose to Corbyn?

Angela Eagle set to challenge Jeremy Corbyn to a leadership election. Apparently due to be announced at 15:00 tomorrow.
I think the overriding perception is that he isn't a good leader. I don't see him as a leader, however I am aware that in 3 or 4 by elections, since Corbyn became leader, the Labour majority increased by decent percentages.
I find him infuriating because he has good ideas and beliefs, but comes across as weak and feeble (IMO).
I will be 100% voting for her. She isn't ideal, but it can get no worse than this.
This is not a show of defiance by Corbyn, it is an display of arrogance by a man, happy to take the party down.
Whilst I can't condone the 'stupid' comment, I would probably suggest 'hoodwinked' might be appropriate. We have seen several pre and post EU vote videos of this kind, where Brexit campaigners have either refused to answer a direct question or denied what they have said is true. I can only say one thing. Those that didn't should have taken notice of the experts. There were an overwhelming number of them.
I can't really speak for the Labour party but I'm not sure he still has the support with the members that he did last year. I know a number of Labour party members (including one who shared a flat with me in Corbyn's constituency, worked with Corbyn and was an active campaigner in that area until last year) and the general consensus is that he's a good guy, a principled man but not a leader. There seems to be a feeling that he is very good at preaching to the converted but isn't able to appeal to voters in the middle ground. Too much time spent at mass rallies where he's basically preaching to the converted.
Labour are in a massive hole to be honest. The majority of their MPs seem more comfortable with Tory MPs than their leader, their support in Scotland has been lost and shows no sign of returning, their core support in their northern and eastern heartlands is slowly slipping in UKIP's direction and the Conservatives currently seem to be more appealing to voters in the middle ground. So their leader somehow needs to consolidate their appeal to their core voters on the left while appealing to swing voters in the middle ground and keeping the PLP happy. It would be a hell of challenge for anyone but I don't think there's an outstanding candidate in the party right now and to be honest this has been brewing ever since Blair was leader.

Sorry, obviously not stupid BUT hoodwink synonyms: deceive, trick, dupe, outwit, fool, delude, bluff, hoax, take in, defraud, double cross, swindle, bamboozle and my favourite SHAFT.... Tigger, my anger won't go away neither. Somebody on here jokingly said about citizenship and it gave me an idea. I'm now actually seriously thinking of using my European heritage to apply for an Italian passport. If that's successful, then I'll make some decisions further down the line. I always had an idea to live in mainland Europe on retirement, and I want to keep that option open.

Insiders say Corbyn wanted to go. At the same time McDonnell was announcing he had no intention to go. He is staying to hold on to the brand name and to stop the Blairites which Gucci Mane quite rightly states are the ones in the wrong party just as Cameron/Osborne and their Blairites are in the wrong party. They should all setup up a different party.
Trouble is brand names and brand visibility. SDP didn't do well when they split. If they had kept the Labour brand and the Labour ones formed a new party then the brand name would have given them more votes. A lot of people vote(d) Labour. They are like Liverpool. You mean they are more comfortable with Cameron's Blairites. Cameron idolised Blair. He sought advice from Blair and Mandelson. He installed Blair's populous polling 2 days a week permanently working for the Tory party. This is a Daily Mail viewpoint of it but there are loads more. Left wing articles say the same thing but think he added right wing policies. Right wing articles think he got rid of right wing policies and introduced left wing ones. The reality is he just did exactly what Blair did and Blair would have done the same as Cameron has done if he had still been in power:

On Corbyn The Labour party members you know are not the numbers that Corbyn has. He has groups like Momentum behind him that although might seem nothing they are 8000 members. They rally the troops, encourage people to join Labour and mobilise the Labour votes. Corbyn is also backed by the Unions because he is a full on 70s style Hard Left Labour man and we all know how good the unions are at getting their members to vote on Labour matters.
On the flip side the Blairite faction have a group called Progress which is funded by Sainsburys. has a third the membership of momentum. Labour is a bit like the EU. powerbrokers all providing support to the faction they want in power to get policies to reflect their interests. Lobbying
The Labour party had around 400,000 members before the weekend. 20,000 joined at the weekend. You can expect another surge now. The Labour members you know are not these people. It is very hard to beat well organised lobby groups. Corbyn will win and Tom Watson has put Angela Eagle out as a sacrifice. He's a lovely chap Tom Watson.
My wife wants me to retire to Portugal. Being her country and all. I like Britain though. I just wish Britain was fairer.
