This thread was set up in an effort to keep politics out of the off topic thread. There are people that like to express their political views and this is the thread dedicated to them. The answer is simple, if what you read offends you, then stay out of the thread.

If only it was that simple. I honestly don't mind if the thread stays open or not. I just feel that the last couple of days things have been said in here that if they were said in a match thread would of got people banned. People say it's not personal but just because your not naming names doesn't give free licence to post what ever you like. If this thread was a discussion in a pub it would of ended in a riot.

What do you mean "and so it begins" that decision will have been made months and months ago and will have nowt to do with referendum.

Sorry Teddy that's a naive statement. A lot of companies will have had a plan depending on the outcome. Some even said they'd close UK offices and move if it was an out vote.

I'd be cautious there Kitch. Anybody with a pension had earned their pension.

I'm not saying they didn't. I just don't think that he should be blaming people who voted leave for the fact he's lost 10% off his pension today. Who's to say that in 5 years time his pension might not be worth more that it ever would have been had we voted remain. All I'm seeing at the moment is a lot of quitters and short sightedness.

You should really take what people post in heat of such an important vote with a huge pinch of salt. They are just expressing their disappointment at that moment in the same way that fans react on a match thread when things are not going their way. It's best not to be too sensitive about what someone may post in the heat of the moment, after all they are just words.

Ah ok. Sorry, I see what you're saying now :emoticon-0148-yes:

I normally have no interest what so ever in politics as I can't stand politicians. For me not one of them is trust worthy I know it's the only system but I almost feel that a dictatorship might be better. Anyways I've kind of got into this whole referendum and have enjoyed seeing people's differing views. Since the result though it's not been great not just on here but I have had falling outs with mates on Facebook who have been celebrating like it was a football match. I voted leave but I am not celebrating the fact they won. This result effects everyone.

I know people are going to be really worried what the future holds in fact I am. I hope in the next few weeks when the dust settles things become clearer. Personally I believe that this is a good thing for the long term but I will not be celebrating or rubbing people's faces in it and I will let anyone I know that does this that its not a result to celebrate as no one knows if it's for the best or not.

The power of the written word!! How's the weather back in the UK? I am back for six weeks starting next weekend, three of them are Chilco Country at a summer school. Looking forward to it!!I Unlike a politician, I can promise to bring warm sunshine with me.

Don't forget to bring me your Spuds posters. Can you roll them rather than fold them please; they burn better that way.

There is little doubt that some will be moving abroad, especially after the referendum. I also think we may have a few move back to the UK

Oh come on fats you know you can't blame everything that happens from now on is because of the referendum. I refuse to be believe that because someone makes an announcement the day after the referendum they haven't made the decision before.
As you say though unless we have first hand info we will not know for sure.
One things for certain it is never fun being out of a job for what ever reason. I have to believe that it will get better for him. If not today then maybe tomorrow but I'm sure it will be soon.

Hey calm down! I didn't say everything. I just pointed out to you that some companies announced before the vote that they'd move out of UK, if we voted for Brexit. This isn't my opinion, it is what was said by the companies. They would have prepared for that and that's what they've done. Some will use Brexit as an excuse to do that.

Fair enough fats....no problems. I was just referring to the one case that was mentioned. However no doubt anything bad that happens from now on will be down to brexit whether true or not. Which is pity

Well the weather was **** for most of today which was because we voted out. The sun made a fleeting appearance for a couple of hours this afternoon, but it muttered something about "goodbye and off back to Europe"

:)
