I think Israel's behaviour is certainly as terrible and systematic as the Nazi's. It has become a war against Islam and one carried out without the respect to all human life. Absolutely dreadful. There are no excuses.

I assume this is the comment that everyone was talking about on the War Thread @Libby ?

Outrageous take, even putting aside the ridiculous comparison to the Nazis.

Completely and conveniently ignores the fact that all the Gulf states are in full support of Israel's actions against Iran, which is the world's number one sponsor of terror and greatest exporter of suffering.

Last I checked, all the Gulf states are Muslim. Israel's "war on Islam" is a pretty ****e one if millions of Muslims support it.

I would agree that the government's of many of the Gulf nations are generally supportive of the action by Israel and America at the moment but I would suggest that their populations are not particularly in favour. It is a fine balancing line .

Having been to Qatar in numerous occasions, I can vouch that there is huge support for Palestine. I think they only accept Israel as they know they could be wiped off the map at any moment. Israel has no respect for sovereign nations as it witnessed by what repeatedly happens to Lebanon.

PS - I also absolutely support Israel’s right to defend themselves/react to the October attacks and all the ‘river to the sea’ idiocy. But I am also allowed to question the continuation/nature of these attacks without being accused of being unbalanced by its very questioning.
Laces, I don't have a problem with you and would rather not have an extended dispute about whether you are even handed or not. But you'll have seen how this started. I posted that that most people on here are anti Israeli, Tom replied that most people on here have balanced views.
I think he is wrong for the reasons I have already posted. Views about this war are polarised with the vast majority on here being anti Israeli. I can only base my opinions on what people write and not what they are thinking. I don't see any posts like yours above from "most people" and to be honest I don't recall seeing any from yourself either. If I am wrong then I apologise but I can't remember seeing anyone defend Israel without a caveat.
If anyone tries to give the appearance of balance it usually follows the same pattern; "Yes, what Hamas did was terrible but........" and then go on to what they really wanted to say, which is usually anti Israeli. That's not balance that's lip service.

Unfortunately, there seems to have been a terrorist attack in North London impacting those of Jewish faith. Lots of words from politicians but I guess the question is what should be done to reduce this. I guess sentiment is high at the moment but British Jews should not suffer as a result.

Horrendous. So obvious that this was about to happen :(

BBC now reporting that the man arrested had a history of mental health issues. I would have thought this would have been apparent from his gait in the video clips.

Not an issue of terrorism but ho this country treats people with dangerous mental health issues.

People top quick to shout terrorism especially if black people involved.

I didn't know the person involved was black.

The Met have declared it a terrorist incident though, suspect they know better than both you and I.

His gait?

You're diagnosing MH issues from someone's gait???

*edited due to unfortunate auto correct!

No. Gait means the way he was walking.

The clips make it pretty obvious there were other issues at play. I don't think the police should have said this was terrorist related until this was proved.

Chief of Met heckled by residents.

Phone autocorrect. I know what gait means. Point still stands, how can you determine MH issues from his gait?
